Modern design, exciting dining concepts, a vibrant atmosphere and a view of the fjord. The attractive harbour location is close to Pirbadet, the largest waterpark in Norway, as well as Rockheim - the national pop and rock expo centre. We have two different restaurants at the hotel. On our first floor you can find our Living Room restaurant and bar. On the 9th floor we have The Rooftop restaurant and bar with a roof terrace of a full 190 m2(2,045 square feet). Here, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the city centre and the Trondheim Fjord.

We were there for a one night stay on our last leg of a road trip. Decent room and decent bathrooms, although a bit dated. The best part was the breakfast buffet, so much selection for everyone in whatever diet they are, there was a fresh milk dispenser which I have never come across, so many pastries, and fresh juices. Ideally if you tuck in, you can skip lunch. The variety is enough for a good brunch.

A grand, modern hotel that if you book at the right time is also cracking value.
Rooms are a good size with large bathrooms beds are very big and mattresses are one and not two single beds pushed together. The duvets take some figuring out as they are half the size so you either wrap yourself in one or try and lay under both which inevitably leads to one on the floor, plenty of pillows which include a soft and hard.
The rooms do have a climate control function but at a +/- 3 degrees and as the window remains closed this could be too little during hot or cold days.
There aren't any radiators either to dry off clothes or towels, but plenty of coat hangers.
Rooms are serviced in morning but possibly on request if you are late getting up.
Breakfast is as daunting as it is amazing, so much choice from traditional cooked sausage, bacon and eggs cooked all ways to fruits, yoghurts and cereals. Then comes what could be variants of traditional Scandinavian breakfast that includes pickled fish, cooked meats and very firm Rye Breads and crackers and the best Norwegian brown cheese. There were also some spicy savoury choices.
This is not a Premier Inn buffet. At first you may be trying to cram as much as you can onto a plate or visit as many times as you can to try everything, you'll need a huge appetite to try it.
Waiters are too keen as if you pop off to fetch something they can clear your table before you finished leaving you to go hunting for another table which were hard to find at the weekend, non-residents can dine here too.
Reception were helpful and were able too help where they can.

Its a short walk from City Centre, Ferry Terminals, Train Station and Bus Station with the harbour nearby with views over it on one side or the city on the other.

Centrally located and walking distance to most sights.
The room was clean and nice.
Quiet and peaceful and heard nothing of the noise from the city in the room.
Beds a little too soft for my back, but that's probably individual.
No windows could be opened, but you could open for fresh air at one end of the window.
This was so tight that you had to use strength to open and to close again you had to use all your strength and everyone will not be able to close it.
Possibly this was only in my room but it was a big minus.
Very good breakfast and the restaurant on the roof overlooking the sea had pleasant service and good food.
A lift from the car park and directly into the hotel makes it easy to get luggage up to the rooms.
The price for the parking is very expensive and is a big minus (not operated by the hotel).
You can get a daily price for NOK 220, but the check-in and check-out times mean that you cannot use the daily price.
Parked there for 1 day and 18 hours.
Got a daily price for the first 24 hours, but the next 18 hours came to over NOK 500.
A total of over NOK 700 in parking for 1 day and 18 hours.

The rooms are clean and self check out is fast and easy. The rest is/was a complete disaster from booking to arrival, dining and accomodation.

One week before arrival we wanted to add another guest to our trip. Normalt it should be easy to upgrade to a bigger room, but no, as we are club members its apparently impossible. Only option, book another room (great suggestion for a 4 year old kid btw).

Upon arrival, we were promted to pay for an extra bed (we already paid for in the online booking portal). Refused, and got a snarky reply after showing the online reciped where it was included.

We then got a room assigned, but when entering there were no extra bed, nor extra linen or towels. Great when you arrive with two small tired kids. I call the reception which promise to fix it (tough no appology). Two maid knock on the door after 10 minutes, and try to just hand over the extra linen(still no towels) before opting to just leave. I need to firmly insist for them to actually assemble and make the extra bed (that we already had paid for).

We headed to the hotel restaurant right after opening. I'm not going to refere all the complications (sent in detail to the hotel), bit to make a long and tiring story short. The staff has no training, do not know their own procedures for ordering, the menu or general ways to treat costumers. We got food first after 1.5 hours (beeing one of only two tables served), the drinks was first on the table AFTER we were done eating and they tried to double charge us when we wanted to pay and leave. All while showing no understanding that this was both way below expectations at a high rated hotel, and of course no appology.

Among all the staff we encountered, only the breakfast Barrista was polite and gave a proper service (very good cooffe), but for the t at of the breakfast, dont expect bacon (1 smal stripe per egg, and strikt watch that noone cheats) and sporadic and in two instances (that we encounterd) complet wrong markers on allergens.

Self checkout is just to drop your key card on the counter. That worked well and was quick and effective.

It is very regrettable to see that the stay did not live up to expectations, and that there are more factors that have had a less positive impact on your experience. We will immediately take measures to improve the shortcomings mentioned in your feedback. The positive aspects include the excellent location of the hotel directly on the water with a wonderful view. Parking in the hotel's own car park was quite easy. From the nearby bus stop, you can easily get to the centre and all the sights.
One of the negative aspects is that our room (501), despite being a better category, deluxe double, was comparatively small and offered little storage space, especially in the bathroom.
The rooftop bar offers a fantastic view, but we would not eat here again. Everything is reheated or deep-fried, our pasta was dry and bland, the burger lukewarm.
Almost all the service staff in the rooftop restaurant seemed uninterested and awkward. In contrast, the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, as was the reliably working housekeeping.
Conclusion: We would stay there again on our next visit to Trondheim, but would not eat there again.

We chose the hotel primarily for its convenient access to the port for our Havila cruise (8-min walk) but we were pleasantly surprised by its excellent amenities and amazing breakfast. It may have been a bit of a longer walk to the main shopping and dining areas of Midtbyen and Bakklandet (15 - 25 mins) but it was a good one-night base for our needs. The room was spacious, bright and clean. We slept well in the comfortable beds. The water pressure in the shower was good, made even better by the Rituals toiletries. The buffet breakfast was superb -- we were impressed by the large and tasty spread of hot and cold dishes, array of breads, fresh fruit and barista-made coffee. It was truly a meal worth lingering over and a highlight of our short stay.

I arrive at a room with a dirty toilet and shards of broken glass on the floor. The room was cold (below 19 degrees Celsius sometimes) and dark. The desktop lamp was broken. The hot water in the shower ran just for two or three minutes, becoming lukewarm after that. The wind from the outside made a howling sound when the room door was closed, making it impossible to sleep on a windy night. I found eggshells and dirt in the hotel breakfast, which I discovered by chewing on something “crunchy” and then taking a closer look at my plate. All in all, I expected way more.

The staff was friendly.

I enjoyed my stay here - five years ago. But my recent visit was an utter disaster. The room on the 2nd floor was very small and looked out on a large air conditioning unit. There was a music event taking place in the hotel. The staff said that >2000 people attended. We went for a drink in the bar - the beer was served in a plastic beaker. What? Supposedly 4stars and I have to drink overpriced lager out of plastic. The dinner was the worst I’ve had in ages. A poor choice, no vegetables, no cheese, fish cold and tasteless. Fine dining it wasn’t. Not even truck stop food. Yuck. The dining area felt like a works canteen. Formica topped tables, no settings and no table cloths. What made it worse was the loud music making conversation all but impossible. One of our group spoke to the staff about the loud music but they didn’t care. The thump, thump, thump of the music went on till after midnight (1230) preventing any sleep.

Breakfast was also poor. Limited choice and dubious quality across the board. If you wanted bacon you had to hunt down a member of staff and ask for it. Four stars? Really?

The hotel is relatively new, and with a good location at the sea. Rooms are good for sleeping, nothing more.

The service was overall ordinary. No wellcomes, no smiles.

But the worst part was the "The Rooftop restaurant" experience. We invested heavily in "White Asparagus", and got served thin memories of green asparagus. That is the most expensive non-eatable two green asparagus I have met so far in my life.

And guess what happened to my protests to the waiter: "I will take it to the manager". No excuse, no offer of compensation, no offer to change the meal. Not even a "Sorry, they were out of white asparagus".

Everything in this hotel is very modern and stylishly designed.
The location is very good, at the port and on foot you can easily reach the touristic points of the inner city
The breakfast buffet offers something for absolutely every taste and could not be better stocked. Just great!
The rooms are very clean, as are the spacious bathrooms with large shower cubicles.
A highly recommended, very pleasant and chic hotel.
