Welcome to a peaceful haven in historical Trondheim. Hotel Bakeriet with its 109 rooms is located in the charming old parts of town and the house is inspired by its former history as a bakery. Included in all our rates are breakfast, and we even offer complimentary waffles during daytime, and a complimentary light evening-meal in the evenings. Coffee/tea is always free, and of course internet wi-fi access as well.

I was visiting Trondheim for one night during a recent trip to Norway. Lovely city and I highly recommend a visit!
I was looking for a reasonably priced, well situated hotel and this fit the bill.
The good bits.
Great location. Less than 10 minutes from the central station and within easy walking distance of all the main sights of the city. The room was basic but spotlessly clean. Comfy and quiet.

The not so good bits.
Breakfast was not great. The continental spread was fresh and full of variety but the cooked bits were rank. Eggs crusty and dried out, bacon burnt and swimming in fat, beans were stone cold. It’s really not that hard to get right.
For me the most disappointing was the team working there. I think they need to be reminded they work in hospitality. No one was rude, but the total lack of any form of welcome or congeniality was noticeable. They simply did not care to be nice or interested in the guests and this is something which really impacts the overall feel of a hotel. The only exception to this were the room attendants who always smiled and greeted you.

In summary, worth a visit if you are looking for a central location, but if I had paid more than the off peak price I suspect I would have been left more disappointed.

Had chosen the hotel because of Bestwestern, downtown and parking garage. Old rule, the impression is essentially determined by the quality of the employees. Unfortunately, when we checked in we had someone who unloaded us in the parking ban in front of the house and then described us a bit confused the way to the parking garage. Ultimately, own map study led to the goal. Common entrance with the Olavshallen car park, signposted far in advance. There in and right felt 45° high into the hotel car park. O miracle by elevator to the reception. Great.
The idea of reusing old buildings requires compromises, but these should not be at the expense of safety. There need not be a step on a smooth floor today. In the shower the tiles had jumped, probably the whole thing is not very resilient.
Breakfast was average. The Norwegian response to staff shortages or lack of interest was interesting: Please clear it yourself!
Bestwestern I remembered differently.

After checking in we were assigned a shabby room with broken fixtures in shower. We immediately asked for a change. We were told initially that they could not move us for 2 days. However, when we asked again 30 minutes later miraculously we were given another room which was far more adequate. The second room was slightly larger, clean, with intact amenities. This rescued our 3 night stay in Trondheim.
The hotel itself has charm and provides an excellent breakfast menu. The staff is very courteous and helpful.
One downside is their showers. It is virtually impossible to avoid flooding the bathroom floor as the seals under the door are not good barriers. Also, no bath mat is provided so we tried with using hand towels which was unsuccessful at stopping the water from running out and only left two totally wringing wet towels on the floor. A thick, water absorbing bath mat would be very helpful as one could easily trip getting out of the shower.

It's a sad affair...premade breakfast and warmed. Supposedly a bakery, yet nothing but pre made bread! You have 2 choices with an addition.

Room is noisy...you can hear whats going on over your head, not to mention the street

Cheap everything to tiles to light fixtures.....

The strengths of the structure I think are the breakfast room in the structural sense and the location. Staff
kind in manner.
We did not like the room, which we found small and not very functional, but still had to stay one night, so it did not weigh much on us.
We arrived at the hotel by car and the information given to us in the email about the parking proved superficial. We had been told to get off at a parking lot based only on the indication of the street, once we entered we discovered only later that we had parked in an area not reserved for our hotel. Even if we had found the correct area the parking was not bookable and places were really limited.

A special hotel with a central location in a quiet area and with excellent service. Fair enough price level. Very good and varied breakfast. The noise level (poor acoustics) in the breakfast room detracts somewhat from the overall impression.

If you get a room between 116 and 122 and you are a light sleeper, ask for another one. We got a room with windows right onto the neighbor's hotel entrance. Both nights there was a lot of noise outside, shouting, luggage rolling, loud talking , you name it. The ventilation in the room was unexistent, so it was either to tolerate the noise or to sleep without air.
Curtain in the bathroom was disgusting with brown and black spots. Toilet was leaking.
Breakfast was rather simple. First day the omelette was definitely from the day before, looked all dried out. The second day was OK.
From positives, the hotel is places very centrally and convinient to all the attractions. The personel was friendly and helpful, but unfortunately not when it came to changing the room to another one.

All in all, the stay was incredibly good! The staff were really good and nice! The breakfast was very good, perhaps a little lazy in following up on the food. Some of it tasted a bit like it had been left for a while, but otherwise the food was very good. The room was small and cosy, perfect for me and my partner😊 a bit unsure of how well it had been washed as there was a bit of spillage and stickiness in and around the sink, but that was only what was visible. I think that if we had told them, they would certainly have washed it and fixed it up, but we received such good service otherwise that we didn't think much of it.
All in all, an incredibly cozy and nice stay😊

This hotel is not recommended!!! Came to the hotel after work and was going to enjoy a romantic night out. We were supposed to shower before we went out, but there was no hot water in either the shower or the sink. Complained to the hotel, but did not get a refund for the overnight stay. One expects to have a shower when staying at a hotel.
