The small hotel in the centre of KristiansandSjøgløtt Hotell is a small and peaceful hotel in Kristiansand with good standards, and an excellent location by the sea. Our rooms are small, but clean and welcoming. We also have two bigger rooms for families. Each room has its own Nespresso machine, so you can have warm coffee or tea whenever you like. Sjøgløtt Hotel is a bed & breakfast hotel, with check in until 7 pm. You are only a few minutes walk away from the city beach, the fish market with its many restaurants, and the main street, Markens gate. The promenade and Christiansholm Fortress is right outside the door. Wifi included! In 2012 we upgraded and expanded our backyard with a new grill for our guests to use and comfortable outdoor furniture. Relax and start your day with breakfast in the backyard on hot summer days! Our breakfast room is also open in the evenings, and you are welcome to make your own waffles – free of charge!

When we were booking it was written ''parking lot''. We understood for free but when we had reservated then suddenly the information came up that it cost kr.120,- p/d We asked the host about it and he lowered it to kr.60,- p/d. Also it was written that there was breakfast. When we arrived and we asked what time the breakfast was the host started to tell that the business were going bad and that they had stopped serving breakfast. But this was exactly the reason for us why we had booked a hotel and not an apartment on airbnb. The host told us that he had informed booking.com about it and that they hadn't changed it on the internet. But that didn't helped us on that moment. The room was okay for us. But what should we do with a coffee machine without coffee capsels, neither a cup. There was tea but no glasses and no sugar/milk. So beware about this all. Other then this we had a pleasant stay. But for that money we could have booked an apartment at airbnb with fridge, stove etc. so that we could have made breakfast ourselves. Kind regards, Ron Derksen

A health emergency put my father in the hospital and sent the rest of the family scrambling to book a hotel in an unfamiliar city. Finding the Sjøgløtt was true serendipity. We rented one of the apartment style units with a dining area, a family room with a sofa bed, and a separate bedroom. The room was clean and well-decorated with a full kitchen and a washer/dryer. The hotel itself has a relaxed and casual "hostel-like" (in a good way) atmosphere. Breakfast, in the cozy basement dining area, was included--we particularly enjoyed the self-service waffle station. The youthful staff were unfailingly kind, polite, and helpful. Perhaps the best feature of the hotel is the location, just a couple of blocks away from the sea and Kristiansand's main pedestrian street. Our first visit to Kristiansand and the Sjøgløtt wasn't exactly planned, but we would happily return.

Located only 5 minutes drive from the ferry terminal and close to sea front and the town center. It is also easy to park outside although there is a private hotel car park which you need to reserve and pay for. This is a small hotel but very quirky and nice. It is not luxury but is very clean and comfortable with lovely helpful staff. It is easily one of the best value, centrally located, comfortable hotels I have stayed in on my frequent trips in and around Scandinavia.

I recently had the pleasure of finding the Sjoglott Hotel in Kristiansand. The staff member at the front desk was friendly and helpful, arranged a taxi to the airport and suggested excellent restaurant for dinner. The hotel is in an older historic building (which adds to the charm) in a very quiet street in Kristiansand. I was able to walk to the waterfront and find excellent restaurant recommended with ease. The room was comfortable and the rate was an excellent value. The downstairs area had coffee, tea and waffles in the evening! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a simple and unique room in an off the beaten path section of Kristiansand. I would definitely stay here again
