We wanted to break up our drive from Oslo to Stavanger and chose Angsar Sommerhotell as it was conveniently located en route, and wasn't as exorbitant as other accommodation in and around Kristiansand. We knew we were staying in fairly basic student accommodation that gets converted to a hotel during summer, so in most respects the hotel was in line... More

Student housing build over to "hotel" during summer months. Simple, clean rooms with breakfast. Had to leave early, so they made us a breakfast package. Price was cheap for a last minute booking, and pretty good value for money. Enough parking space for cars and they offer different sporty activities eg kayaking.

When booking the hotel via booking.com we did not exactly know what to expect. It turned out to be some sort of student/seminar facility with 4 rooms (each with own shower/toilet) sharing one living room/kitchen facility. And a very nice roof terrace with gorgeous views. Breakfast in a sort of canteen in a central building, and quality of the breakfast... More

I hardly ever give 1* as I feel bad instead of the establishment. I was told I shouldn't. So here it is. Plus: wifi (good), parking, breakfast included in the price, nice young staff. The rest: Outside the city. It's not a hotel or motel. Not even a hostel. Maybe I could call it a dorm but that'd be an... More

Terrible. A boardingschool redefined to be a hotel i summer. Overrprized, extremely small rooms, dirty...just horrible. This not value for money at all, and do not deliver what they promise. Don`t even think about it. Bad !

Booked a triple room for two adults and a kid, and got a small room with an unsteady bunkbed and a roll-away bed on the side. There was a small chair and a desk and a closet, and a small bathroom with a shower in the corner. The room itself seemed freshly painted (all white, very hospital-like), but the bathroom... More

It is important to realize that this is not a traditional hotel, but student accommodation rented out to tourists during the summer holiday season. Staff functions are run by students, so services may be slow but invariably friendly. We stayed in the new building ("nybygget") which was spotlessly clean with brand new, comfortable beds and a spacious bath room with... More

I booked a room purely as a last night before an early morning ferry, the hotel is actually university accommodation used out of term. I arrived after riding just over 300 kms in temperatures of just under 27C, very hot, the reception is at the top of a long set of steps and arriving at 17:00 it took 20 minutes... More

Call the shovel for a shovel and this one would have passed. As a hotel you build up some expectations. This place can't measure up to the cheapest US motels. We had a room towards the fjords but a hole in the drywall, the dirty bunkbed and the thin seetrue curtains didn't gave us anything near a good nights sleep.... More

We found a broken bunk bad, and we had to sleep on the floor all night long. Moreover the floor was very dirty and we had to clean it all. The breakfast is served in terrible igenic conditions. Receptionists are very kind and friendly. It's convenient for all those who want to spend realex days. There's also a nice swimming... More
