Having recently moved to Norway, my company had their annual "Julebord", or Christmas dinner, at Union Hotel. I had never been here, but had heard a lot of good things about it. The food was amazing, the hotel was beautiful, and my wife and I didn't want to leave. Some people commented that the staff was a little rude. This...

The views are breathtaking..... be sure to ask for fjord view. The dinner buffet is very good. The desserts are amazing. The breakfast buffet is wonderful and comes as part of the price. We expected to LOVE this hotel but did not. First of all, we had a view of the parking lot. Maybe, if we had had a view of the fjord, we might feel differently. The lobby area is very cozy and charming but you can't see the fjord from there unless you get a table out on the patio area....

When we arrived at the hotel we were not particularly impressed either by its looks or by the attitude of the staff. However the view over the fjord from our room was (as my son put it) a game-changer. The pool and sauna area as well as the outdoor jacuzzi (open until 11pm) were also a welcome break from all...

It was a marvelous scenery in this area, but the hotel had many faults... The food was average, but very expensive. The rooms were OK, small bathrooms and tepid water. We had a room with fjord-view, very nice view! But the service in this hotel was more or less poor. You felt that once you have payed for your room,...

Arrived here after driving on 2 of the most scenic but hair raising roads. The Troll Road and the road down into Geiranger. Hair pin bends, long drops and wonderful views. Our room was gob smacking, a suite. The lounge had a large flat screened television which we discovered rotated round into the bedroom. You could also watch it whilst...

The hotel had big bedroom with a large bathroom and good shower. The garden view rooms were quiet (no road noise) and cheaper. The beds were firm, but the curtains were not dark enough for us. THe breakfast was excellent. Its an easy drive to the tourist area on the fjord or a quite steep walk. Free parking at the...
