Hotel Jeløy Radio - the small place for “big ideas” Many of our finest treasures are often well kept secrets. Hotel Jeløy Radio is one of these - a little gem, surrounded by natural beauty and situated on a picturesque headland just off the Oslo Fjord. The hotel building is steeped in history, having evolved from an old radio station into what is now a conference hotel with a unique atmosphere. The building, which completed in 1930, is a really imposing pearl in the style of Functionalism. Here was this wonderful pearl close by the sea with 2 kilometres of shoreline, and an idea was born: to develop this little gem into a one of a kind hotel with high standards. Our dream was to create an inspiring hotel between the borders of tradition and trends, quality, and creativity. And we dare to say with both humility and pride that we have succeeded. We receive many positive feedbacks and our experience is that our guests appreciate the staff’s warm welcome - a professional, but cheerful atmosphere and an authentic butler at their helm. In addition to the genuine and the sensual that we value, there is room for laughter and job satisfaction, both in front and behind the scenes. Our focus on architecture, Scandinavian design and art, gives us both joy and inspiration and we are delighted that many leading designers and artists have chosen to exhibit their works at Jeløy Radio. If you are looking for an unforgettable experience that combines the sea, panoramic views, harmony, tranquillity and playfulness, then we gladly invite you to visit Hotel Jeløy Radio – a place to think big thoughts and relish small pleasures! Welcome!

Jeløy radio is beautifully situated by the Oslo fjord, with great opportunities for trekking or running during your stay. The building is fantastic; a great example of nordic functionalist architecture, excellently refurbrished giving respect to its origins while still matching modern standards. The building itself makes this place worth a visit. I have been at Jeløy radio several times, both attending and hosting business seminars and workshops. The locale works great for such purposes, with bright meeting rooms of different sizes and the neccesary equipment available. The staff are friendly and serviceminded, although in some areas they have a way to go to make the guests satisfied. Sometimes they seem a bit lost regarding how to run a hotel. Where this place really struggles to live up to the beautiful scenery and the stylish building is the food they serve. Tastes are blend, presentation is boring and the menu lacks originality and fails to make the guest interessted. When spending a few days with colleagues or business partners in a place like this, the food is an important part of the whole experience, at least in my view. Therefore I give Jeløy radio 3/5, due to the consistent mediocre quality of the food.

Small but cosy hotel close to the sea at Jeløya just outside Moss, one hour south of Oslo, vert good restaurant and conference room in the main building, and guest rooms in the renovated barn. Just by the fjord, you can stroll along the cost line minutes away from the hotel.

This is a fantastic little hotel and establishment. Great interior, great food and great staff. We went there on a businiess lunch to view the place together with some of our costumers and all I wanted to do was to book the whole place for a big friends-of-friends get-together on a hot summer evening. We had a great chicken salad for lunch.

I was at Jeløya for a two days conference and enjoyed my stay. My room was small and only had the absolute necessary equipment, but is was clean and I got a good nights sleep. The best part of this place is the location, with the sea and the old forests. The architecture of the main building is beautiful art nouveau. But why does the bar look like a left over from the nineties?

Second time after 8 years, it is still good. It's such a peaceful place with wonderful scenery - the food served is also excellent. Would love to come back here for a holiday next time. Totally recommending this if anyone on holiday in Oslo wants a quiet weekend away from the city.
