This is a very well located hotel, next to the hustle and bustle along the waterfront and with views to the water from small balconies. The rooms are sleek and large and the breakfast is just what you would expect, with a great choice.
We were looking forward our stay at The Thief as one of the highlights of our honeymoon in Scandinavia. We chose it based on a friend’s reco and their strong TripAdvisor ratings. The hotel is beautiful and well located in the harbor close to great restaurants and walking distance to Oslo’s key attractions. We had told them it was our honeymoon so we got there and found a room full of rose petals which was a nice gesture. Besides that, we didn’t get any extra pampering. Our room was nice and brand new but the window faced an office building. The blackout curtain worked well and it was dark in there even in the long daylight evenings and early morning sun. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were either too thick or too thin and I woke up with a neck pain after the first night. The bathroom was nice but the shower didn’t have much water pressure and the shower space was a bit small. The breakfast included in our rate was great. Lots of selections served buffet style. The toiletries and towels were great! Our big issue was the front desk service and (lack of) air conditioning in the room. Our air conditioner didn’t cool off the room and we called several times asking to get it fixed but they wouldn’t send anyone up. The comforter was really thick so we asked for a thinner one to sleep in the 24o room but they didn’t have any. So they sent us two bed sheets instead. What???? The next day, there was a huge line at the front desk and we just left and tried calling and emailing the hotel asking them to fix our air conditioner but there wasn’t an answer. Two days later, I finally got someone on the line and they informed me they don’t have air conditioners in the rooms so it was like that - accept it! It was almost 30o outside and our room was really hot the whole time we were there. Finally, we tried to go the spa pool one rainy afternoon and once we got there, they told us we needed a reservation and that the pool was booked. We asked to take a look around and there were 4 people in the pool. In any rate, the front desk person never mentioned we needed to make a reservation to use the pool. So we didn’t get to use the pool during our stay. During checkout, we mentioned these issues and all she did was smile and apologize but never offered anything to us to offset our bad experience. In conclusion, it was a beautiful place but we didn’t get the best experience as you would have expected from the best hotel in town.…
Super cool, well located, clean and comfortable, excellent service and food. The room was a bit small but the views more than made up for it. Concierge Marie managed to get us in to a fantastic restaurant very close by last minute on a summer Saturday night, pretty stellar.
Enorm fijn hotel om te verblijven! Heerlijke kamer met uitzicht over de haven. Personeel enorm vriendelijk en professioneel! Komen zeker terug. What a fantastic hotel to stay! Wonderful room with view of the harbor. Staff incredibly friendly and professional. We surely come back!
The Thief is in a great location in a picturesque, modern part of Oslo and the hotel itself is really chic and comfortable. The staff are professional but very friendly and the rooms are really luxurious. The breakfast is a real treat too.
My fiancée and I stayed for two nights. All the staff were very welcoming and polite and positive. The room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The food at breakfast was excellent. The spa was truly an amazing experience. Everything was excellent
The room was amazing, comfortable, clean and just a great place to stay. The breakfast was fantastic! And I really enjoyed the Roof Top Bar! Great place with a fantastic service and great drinks! I'll be back!
Friendly staff, beautiful interior and very comfortable beds. Breakfast was also very nicely made and the overall atmosphere was very calm. The bathroom was nice and big abs the general interior in the room was very stylish.
Our second stay was even better than the first.the location is perfect. Our suite was beautiful and perfect for a week long stay. The staff is lovely and helps with whatever you need. It really is a perfect place to stay in Oslo. There are lots of restaurants close by and there is nowhere you cannot walk to.
One of the best bars I’ve been in, the atmosphere was cozy but elegant, and the attention was simply amazing. Pierpaolo, the bartender, did a great job with the drinks, in addition that he was very into giving a great service-which he did. Amazing amaretto sour!
