Stayed for 3 Nifhts in this hotel. Location is very convenient and connected by Bus, Tram, train etc. Breakfast offered got a lot of International cuisines. Hotel ambience was excellent with user friendly desk staff who helped us to naviagte in city. Room got a nice n cozy look. Very comfortable feeling during the stay.
Walking distance from the train station - if you have easy to carry baggage.Staff are very friendly, helpful and professional. Nice bright, clean, comfortable and colourful room with all you'd expect. Splendid breakfast. I would stay there again. Thanks
It was the second time we stayed at the hotel, about a week in juli 2018, and a single night in december 2019, while we surprise visited a friend in Oslo. It offers a perfect location, walking distance to Akkers Brygge (in 2018 we went swimming in the sea down there), the city centre and much more. There is a Car Park in the building. Room sizes do vary, various rooms types are offered when booking. The room (313) was well appointed, large and had a very spacious bath room. The breakfast is huge, lots of variation to sample. The restaurant serves breakfast but not lunch / dinner, however you have what must be 30+ restaurants across the road. Nice staff. We dont really look for other hotels in Oslo.
We make the short walk from the train statio to the Thon Hotel Vika Atrium and found it a very modern place on a busy street. It is located a short walk from Aker Brygge Mall, which is near the waterfront, site of many outdoor restaurants and cafes. It was a pleasure to walk the harbor area which is near the city hall, transportation centers both rail and water. We walked from the hotel to the docks where we boarded a ferry to the Norwegian Folk Museum and Viking Ship Museum. Later that day, we took the ferry back to the harbor area and boarded a tram that took us to Vigeland Park. This hotel is in a great location at a decent price.
I was put in a room with no windows and therefore no natural light and charged 1900NOK (over 200USD) for the pleasure. I last stayed in a room like that when I was a backpacker in Old Delhi many years ago and it cost less than a dollar (at least Thon didn’t have bed bugs...). The decor was dark which made it all the more oppressive and claustrophobic. Horrible.
