I have stayed at THON Hotel Opera both during business trips and private occasions. The one thing I always appreciated tremendiously when I used to stay there when I worked for TV2 Norway was that I would always be allowed to check in a bit early. This helped me so much when I was scheduled to meet for broadcasts at 14. The staff always have impeccable service and greet you with a warm smile. The hotel, despite being a large one, feels very cozy and like a home away from home. Food in both the breakfast and at Eufemia Bar are both always amazing. Location is also everything, as the hotel is located right next to Oslo Central Station, The Opera House, Much Museum and many more exciting sights in the Bjørvika district. Despite its central location you will not hear any noise, it is a quiet and peaceful place, and I highly reccomend staying here on your stay in Oslo.…
Good location for the centre of Oslo and train station. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was clean and breakfast was very impressive catering for all. I would certainly recommend staying here for short periods, most tourist sights are within easy walking distance.
So glad I stayed here - hotel full of very nice people, with a really wonderful brunch, and lovely facilities. Even gave me a bouquet and some snacks and a few extra touches. Very impressive service. Super experience overall.
We arrived to a nice welcome and excellent room. Service was very good and super helpful. They have a nice pub food and bar with very nice wait staff. When we needed an adaptor for our U.S. equipment they gave us one! We then dropped it off after check out.
We booked 2 nights at Thon Hotel Opera Business Rooms. What we like about this hotel: 1) Breakfast variety very very good 2) room decent size 3) Molton brown products and while Thon is a green hotel, they don't stinge on stuff in the room for the guest example, shower caps, bedroom slippers, tissue, disinfection wipes etc What we think could be improved: 1) the pillows are kind of soft - would be nice to have a pillow menu for the higher price rooms 2) the shower/bath tub- it's kind of high and for us short Asians - it's quite a climb - maybe provide a stool to climb up to the bath tub safely. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.
We were doing a post cruise from Bergen to Oslo via the beautiful train ride. We arrived at the Oslo train station and walked about 400 yards to the hotel. Glad we had reservations, It was full and hard to get a receptionist. The first con, No one mentioned that our room was in a different building. We returned asking for an upgrade, it wasn't worth it, another con. The room had the essentials with bed, lamp, and nice big shower. It also had a refrigerator and hot water pot, but it was stark & lacked any creature comfort's. The pro, breakfast buffet was amazing but some of the staff were very rude. Con, The morning we were leaving I went to get a cup of decaf to go. The coffee bar was broken and the only coffee available was in the restaurant but the waitress would not let anyone get coffee. I think there are better hotels.…
This hotel is in a good central location for a stay in Oslo. Close to transport options, including the Tram, Bus, E-Bikes, E-Scooters, Taxis and the mainline Train station. We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights and had a great view over Oslo city. The rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable and the room has ironing facilities, coffee machine/kettle and a hair dryer. The breakfast spread was plentiful with everything you could ever want. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is staying in Oslo.
A hotel with great location next to train station, Munch museum, library and many-many restaurants. Rooms were kind of tiny-ish, but they were clean. Staff was helpful, brekkie was good but conference spaces a bit so-and-so. Good stay nevertheless.
This hotel adjoins Oslo Central Station and is across the road from the Opera House - definitely convenient! And a short walk into the CBD area. The room was surprisingly large by Norway standards and very bright - no gloomy trendiness here. Breakfast was one of the best, albeit leaning more to the cold cuts, but nevertheless a reasonable selection of hot food. Staff were happy and helpful and there are plenty of restaurants and fast food outlets in the nearby streets. I hope to stay here again for a little longer next time.
Arrived at our hotel, Thon Hotel Opera. Located right next to the Central Train Station and a large taxi stand. Room not very large. Twin beds, two chairs and a table fill the room. Nice size desk, with a desk lamp with a very dim bulb. Therefore, poor lighting to work at desk. Two electrical outlets. No in-room safe. Two luggage racks big enough for small suitcases. The tub/shower has a very high side, not suitable for older guests. Soap available in wall mounted dispensers.
