Why two stars? -The room was paid in full beforehand, but they charged me again at check-in. A check-in that took 15 minutes. -We were several couples staying here and while everyone else got large rooms with nice views, we got a room resembling a large broom closet with a view of roof, hallway and other rooms. (We had no idea til the last day that the other rooms were so much better). -They tried to charge us for breakfast (for one of us) even though breakfast was included for both. We got that cleared up so we weren’t charged, but it was yet another hassle in an otherwise crappy stay. In addition, we were going to visit the rooftop bar, but you have to leave the hotel and enter through another building. The entrance on the 7th floor was closed. No…when you book at the Grand Hotel in Oslo, I think you should expect and receive more. Been here before, before it was a Scandic Hotel, I wonder if that’s the reason for reduced quality. The only decent experience was Afternoon Tea.

I bought "Grand Opplevelse" which was nothing to do wit Grand... I felt like nobody cared about us... The money we payied for 2 nights was definitely not worth it... First of all the first room we got for the night just when you enter didnt smell good. The second day we moved to junior suite. The room was nice, nothing to complain about but at the evening we went to the booked restaurant Palmen and the head waitress said she doesnt have our reservation. I had to proof by showing an email tht the restaurant should be booked for us at 20.00. We had to wait until she could prepare a table. Then we had to remind that we should get 2 glasses of champagne which was included (I felt emabarassed to mention all of that). Yes we got glass of white wine and the waitress was trying her best but the way we both felt was terrible. At the end for the dessert we got one vanilla ice cube with maybe 2 berries. Really? At home I can make it better because ill add at least chocolate souse on top. Thats definitely not your expectations for "Grand opplevelse". Thats not everything. Next day in the morning when we both were still sleeping suddenly Very loud speaker music and knocking to the window woke up us. A guy was screaming to us to close the windows with a very loud music. Come on??? Whats more disappointing is coming we both were thinking.... So that how our Opplevelse been. Would be much better of me to book a room and palmen restaurant by myself. At least I would be sure i have the booking. I definitely dont reccoment the option "Grand opplevelse". You definitely should not call it this way if you dont really care about your guests... I have been promised someone to contact me but nobody did it since at least a month already I guess. The very positive memories its your bartender. He is great, he makes an amazing coctails. Best regards Aga

The hotel has a great location in the centre of Oslo, you really can't beat it. The room was clean and modern but a bit on the small side. The breakfast service was the worst we'd ever had in a hotel. 30 min wait to be seated and on every occasion we went, several of the food stations had run out of food. I saw on numerous occasions how the chef used his hands to move food from the oven trays to the serving trays and he had a plaster (not plastic but material) on his finger. Extremely unhygienic. There was also no doorman and no one to help you take your bags to the room, which involved several stairs to the elevator and again on the room floor to get to our room. I would exact better from a 5 star hotel.

Very old hotel, very large and central to all of Oslo cbd. Hotel room was in good condition, was a quiet room with an internal view, no real view, apart from looking at other rooms. Wheel chair and stroller accessible. We stayed three nights but one night would’ve been enough to experience the Grandiose hotel. Wasn’t for us we wouldn’t stay there again.
