Stayed here on business but was able to enjoy this beautiful city while here. This hotel is large. The rooms vary dramatically...between a newer wing and the original rooms. I had a newer room and it was okay at best. The real gem here is the Thief Hotel but that price point is nearly a multiple. Hats off to the concierge that arranged for me and my bf to have a last minute tour of the Royal Palace and to an incredible bar staff. It's a beautiful hotel and the most famous in Oslo. At a minimum get a drink or have a meal at their restaurant. It's truly an experience.

Spent 3 nights at the Grand Hotel and it was phenomenal! Location was perfect central to Nobel Museum, PARLIAMENT, ROYAL PALACE, AND NATIONAL THEATER, all in walking distance from the hotel. The room was beautiful and elegant. The hotel staff could not be more helpful. The concierge, Jaume Arisa was one of a kind. He made every day there another incredible experience thanks to his guidance. He was able to help direct each days events with flawless insight. I will definitely return to this wonderful hotel and hopefully meet Jaume once more.

I’ve traveled worldwide and gave never experienced such wonderful service! Whenever we rang the front desk for assistance, it was delivered quite fast. The concierge and front desk staff / bellman were always very pleasant and helpful. Thomas was especially attentive. I appreciate that very much. We will absolutely return.

We arrived in Oslo as the last port of our Baltic Cruise. Following a city tour we had a nice dinner and enjoyed watching TV in our room. Following a delicious room service breakfast we were on our way to the airport and headed home.

We had booked the trip to Oslo for my wife's birthday and wanted a 5* experience for a very rare treat. The pricetag was very large but we thought we would get a 1st class experience. We arrived, no help with luggage. The polite person on front desk gave us our card key to our room but we were so disappointed. The room was aged, had flaky paint, worn carpet and was dirty. We found body hair on the pillow, in the bath and on the window ledge.. We complained and was given...a smaller room with no view. Due to the poor hygienic state of the first room, this should have been upgraded. After a day in Oslo, we were really looking forward to the pool and steam room. The website says free to guests on its main page - we were horrified to be asked to pay 500KR (£50) for a 30 minute swim and were told it was not free for guests at the weekend. On closer inspection, when you continue clicking into the webpage, you see there is a charge. That said though, it is so misleading and hidden and an absolute ripoff. When you pay >£250 a night you should have access to the pool. The only reason we didnt walk out and ask for our money back was due to it being a birthday weekend and not wanting more stress. Must say that this 5* hotel has really dissapointed us. Very sad birthday weekend.
