We had our another stay in Boersparken Hotel when visiting Oslo in June. The hotel is still very good, mainly due to its location and good service, but is getting quite tired. It is very worn in the stairways and in the breakfast hall. It is not any good idea to have carpet such places. Old food remains in the carpets do not increase appetite. The room we got was tired as well, stains on walls, on bed frame etc. We got quite mixed feelings from this visit. Maybe it is a time for refresh?

This is the second time I’ve chosen to stay at the hotel- and it’s because the reception staff is just fabulous. Helpful, easy, always trying to make the best stay. Rooms are tiny and very clean. Easy to get fresh towels as needed. Excellent breakfast. Rooms with view of the Opera House. Highly recommended.

Thank you for your great review! How happy we are to see you choose our hotel that we are so proud of, for the second time. The opera view IS amazing! Thank you for your lovely words of the service, cleaning and breakfast. Welcome back to Oslo, and us! :)

Nice hotel. Location is very good to access all the local transport. Nice room. , Centrale station, bus stations and even hop on hop off pick up drop stand is in walking distance. Not much choice in breakfast for vegetarian tourist but whatever available is good. Nice staff.

We stayed 5 nights and it was fine for what we wanted. To cover some specific points: Two blocks from the central railway station - dead easy walk, cross over the tram stops outside the station, turn left, walk straight down Fred Olsen gate and two blocks later it's right there (5 mins??) Breakfast is very comprehensive - a real plus point. Room (a superior one) was great but I think we probably had the best in the hotel (rm 223), there is a 33% chance that you could end up facing into the inner courtyard! Cleaning - very clean on arrival, cleaned again on day 4 when they changed my wife's bed but not mine???? By end of day three the floor was getting decidedly gritty (take slippers). Hotel bar - barely adequate with Carlsberg beer on draught (what's wrong with the Norwegian draught beer?). Checking in & out - the first time we tried the auto check-in it said "no booking found", tried again and it worked just fine - or go to the bar. Just don't try to check out when coach loads are leaving! Noise - not the hotel's fault but one night we actually had a workman repairing the pavement with a disk-cutter at 2350hrs - Yes - really! Street cleaning about 3 a.m. If it's light they are working and in summer it get's dark very late and light very early. There are a number of Comfort hotels in Oslo; the one at the Central station would on reflection have been better but in an expensive city (£10 for a beer/glass of wine) it was the cheapest part of the whole trip. Just don't expect more than a Travel-lodge experience (and that might be unfair to Travel Lodge!).

Nicely located hotel (very close to the central train station), which is trying to give a picture of being environmentally friendly. I think that is another word trying to just save money for themselves! Self check-in does NOT work. You have to take a paper cup from the corridor if you like to drink something in the room, or wash your teeth. Good breakfast, though.
