Situated in the heart of the city, Clarion Hotel Oslo is lauded for its excellent location, mere steps away from key attractions like the Opera House. Guests consistently commend the hotel for its spotless environment and modern amenities.

The lady on the front desk, Isabel was fantastic. We booked in easily. More importantly we needed to see a doctor. Isabel booked the appointment quickly and got an appointment in a good time.
She is excellent, a great credit your business. She was so helpful.

This was our first stay in this hotel. We chose it purely by its location withing walking distance from the city centre and central station and just two blocks away from the sea front. There was no problem finding the hotel, but we couldn't find how to reach the front door by car. In the end we drove the car to a garage a few hundred metres away and walked to the hotel. When we left a couple of days later we got advice how to take the car to the front door along the pavement.
The man at the front desk was just great and relaxed and the check in went swiftly. We had a room with big windows facing the street and was a bit worried that the traffic noise would disturb our sleep, but couldn't hear a thing as the room was well isolated.
The room was really neat, however without a wow effect as I had the feeling that I'd been in a similar kind of hotel room several times before. However, there was everything we needed for a few days stay; safe, mini bar, iron & board... The flat TV was the biggest I've seen in any hotel room. The only downside was the bath towels that should have been a bit bigger and fluffier.
The breakfast was just great and nothing was missing. The breakfast room was a bit crowded why we was given a certain time to enter.

I visited the hotel in the expectation of staying in a high-level hotel, with excellent service, and within the Clarion quality standard.
However, the service was extremely poor, due to the COVID they took care of everything being done via message. You don't have room service every day, you have to ask but the problem is that didn’t work, 3 times I sent a message and only one time was answered.
Preventive actions are not reflected during breakfast too. An area, with no distance between tables and people bumping into each other. No one to organize the tables. Could have someone to supervise and manage.
The positive points are a nice t view and there is a gym. The location is ok if you intend to use the train and visit the main tourist areas, but at night the area around is not the best in Oslo to walk safety.

We visited this fantastic hotel thrice this summer. My wife made the reservations through Nordic choice hotels and we were amazed at the top level of service at all levels at the reception with Vidar and his colleague and at the Shutter bar with the ever smiling Monica. The housekeeping staff were also all smiles and breakfast was such a wide spread of delicacies.

By the waterfront, but still in the city, one of Oslo´s newest hotels is also one of the best.
Not only does Clarion Oslo boast a great location, it also staffs some of the friendlies people I have met in the Norwegian hotel scene.
From the front desk gang, to the cleaners, to the breakfast staff who always remembers how you like your coffee (this is not common in 2020), it is all-smiles-everything!
I do not have to mention the art, the in-house gym or the proximity to the train station or city center. Just book it, trust me.

I stayed at the Clarion Hotel Oslo for 6 nights. What can I say? Wow. This was probably the most comfortable stay I have ever had. The room was impeccably clean. The staff were wonderfully polite, and spoke perfect English - which helped a lot. Breakfast was included, and was also multifarious & tasty. The interior design was modern and tasteful, the art was fantastic on the second floor, and the rooms were quiet and felt incredibly homely. 100% recommend, and will stay here again the next time I am in Oslo. BUT: the mini-bar is incredibly expensive. For example, £37 for 400ml of Chablis is TOO MUCH in my opinion! I could buy 4 bottles at home in Waitrose for that cost! Also, my USB charging ports did not work, but that wasn’t an issue as I had wall plugs.

I stayed at the hotel for 5 nights with a group of five people in five different rooms. This review is for my room on the 2nd floor (one above ground level).
The Clarion Hotel Oslo is a nice hotel in Oslo. Breakfast is outstanding, never have seen a better one in a hotel of this class. Also the service during breakfast is quick and very customer friendly.
The rooms are small but that's okay for staying in the city. They are designed modern but cosy. Bathroom is spotless (beside sounds from the drain but not hearable outside the bathroom).
BEWARE: Rooms at least on the lower floors are very loud. On the second floor (actually first floor above ground level) all rooms are facing towards a big street with a city tram stop. Opening a window during night is not really possible. And there is a big conference area on the same floor. Resulting in long parties and music. Unfortunately, though I went to the reservation directly after getting into my room, there were not able to offer me a solution and on the party night they weren't possible to do anything, either. Ear plugs were offered but that's not a solution for cancelling the base in music. Eventually there was a refund of about 40% of the costs for one night.
I would recommend this hotel only for upper floors (at least Level 5 or higher) and would choose another hotel for my next stay.

A good option for those who wants to visit Oslo. This hotel near the train station is very well located as you can reach most of the sightseeing in central town by foot. Rooms are big, bathroom is well equipped and breakfast buffet is ok. Staff is really dedicated, I can recommend this place.

The rooms are modern, quite nicely designed and the location is great, but…we found the bedroom too hot at night and when we asked about changing the temperature the woman at the desk said we couldn’t change it at night and we should “open a window”, when it was -9C outside. Breakfast food was nice, but service seas absolute chaos. There is no soundproofing in the bedrooms - we had techno music, a clarniet and drunk people thumping about - not to mention the fan system you can’t turn off buzzing away. 5 star expensive, but 2 star service. Stay away.
