The hotel must have changed owners since the earlier reviews. This hotel is simply lovely. One of the few hotels in Norway that I came accros with some character. Location is perfect (short walking distance from bus station and airport bus, close to shops and restaurants) and staff are very friendly. The hotel apparently has had a make-over: everything is... What a pleasant surprise this hotel in Narvik. Nothing special to see at the outside, but look inside. Friendly people, nice room, good breakfast. A saloon full of character, where coffee and tea are ready the whole day. In this hotel no "minibar", but why should it? Restaurants for every budget and a supermarket are in the neighbourhood. I booked... More

Like many of the other reviewers state, this hotel does not give a good first impression. The paint is peeling, the building looks uninviting, shabby and rundown. In fact, having driven from Kiruna that day we were looking forward to a nice sleep so nearly canceled the booking on the spot. It got better though. The elderly lady who greeted... More

On our road trip in Norway, we stayed a night in Narvik. These views are totally remarkable, we were so astonished by them. After they day out we arrived to our hotel very late and very tired. We just wanted to sleep few hours and continue. Our hotel looked quite old from the outside, and when we entered to same... More

Me and my friend had a stopover in Narvik on our way north in Norway. Our first impression of the hotel was "Wow, the painting is falling down from the outside walls!". Inside the reception, we got very good service from the woman working there - and when we got into the room we both thought "Wow, this room has... More

We had booked the Nordstjernen Hotel for two nights. When arriving we immediately noticed the old, shabby building with much of its paint coming off the walls. The lady at reception was very welcoming but could not the erase the image of having entered a hotel without renovation since the 1970s. Our room was facing the main street of Narvik... More

“Ask for a high floor room preferably not facing the E6. You still get a good view, but less noise.”
