On the world-famous Ringstrasse Viennese elegance triumphantly returns with Florian Weitzers "Grand Ferdinand". Here tradition is not about looking back, it is about celebrating forward, inspired by the idea of recapturing an era in Vienna in which nothing was more meaningful than life itself. With 186 gorgeous rooms including four suites and one Grand Suite, a refreshing outdoor rooftop pool (23 degrees) and 3 incredible restaurants the Grand Ferdinand is ready and delighted to charm its guests from different cultures and places all over the world. The inspiration comes from the passionate and experienced hotelier Florian Weitzer. With an eye for architectural treasures. This basis is what gives the Grand Ferdinand its unique and elegant charm: That a noble and modest building from the early 1950's transforms into an extraordinary hotel that reflects Vienna's rich cosmopolitan history in the present.

Nice location within Viennese Ring. The hotel has an open round-year pool with a fascinating street view — the pool is located on the 8th floor. All cosmetics in the rooms are quite new and are being refreshed according to the season of the year. Free water as a compliment and you can always ask for a free phone charger if you occasionally forgot your own. Also don’t forget to checkout one of three fancy restaurants in hotel — you may start your day with a breakfast on a rooftop.

I stayed here twice and had a wonderful experience on each occasion. The hotel is in a very good location--close to the main stations and within a thirty minute walk of the main sights and sites. Breakfast is very good and Sunday brunch is superb. A very good cocktail list which I worked my way through in the 8th floor bar or outside terrace-depending on the weather. I also had a very good evening meal there which included an excellent steak tartare. Florian, Gregor and Yvette in the restaurant were very helpful, friendly and attentive during my two visits. I would highly recommend staying here.

The Grand Ferdinand hotel was a good choice in Vienna, good quality for price and the location is very convenient to all principal museums and attraction to visit. In the SchubertRing close to center StephansDom, close to Secession, close to Belvédère, close to Albertina, close to Hofsburg Palace, close to Borrome church and close to green metro line that goes to Schonnbrun Palace. In few words you can have all attractions within walking distance. The hotel room is a little to small in my opinion but bed is very comfy. The breakfast is good but half buffet half served and service is slow.

We love so many things about the hotel: the location, the breakfast, the restaurant, the club on the top floor, the staff... Huge downpoint: the room! We booked a "Comfort Room" which differs from a "Standard Room" in having a chaiselounge (which wasn't there, no wonder there was no space) and an useless champagne bar (meaning a - not included - bottle of warm champagner behind a door next to the mini bar). We would have preferred some shelf space or a drawer. There literally were one US letter size shelf and some hooks with two hangers which meant we had to place our things on top of our suitcases. Another downpoint was the in-room shower and sink: the humidity coming from showering and the damp towels were not compensated by the A/C which was not very enjoyable. We had similar rooms situations at other hotels, but dampness was never a problem there. Bottom line: room design places form over function. The design is so weird that it will not make me return despite the many great features the hotel has. Sad!

With everything that has gone on recently with Covid, looking at a staycation in UK was a distinct possibility. Lucky for us the holiday company we booked with were terrible and although our flight was cancelled they left the hotel booked. We called the Grand Ferdinand direct and then arranged our own flight. They confirmed the booking and the concierge even called back to arrange a surprise for my partner whose birthday it was whilst out there. Fresh flowers (beautiful) and ice cold bubbles (Tasty), were awaiting us when we got to our room. The room (superior) is exceptionally clean with everything you need for a short stay. Shower in room, seperated by glass bricks. In room mini bar with snacks, Safe, massive bed and shutters instead of curtains. All wonderful! The only fault I could find was the lighting. I know it's cool to have dark moody lighting, however when you want to ready yourself for one of the many nice eateries in the surrounding area (including one of the hotels three) , it would be nice to be able to brighten an area. Staff were available to help all the time and were very approachable. We ate in the main restaurant which was priced very competitively and was very good quality. Breakfast was included at the Top Floor reasturant (amazing views). Buffet style or pick from the menu both excellent. Ask for different coffees though. They serve cocktails here in the evening. Didn't use the top floor pool but people seemed to be enjoying it. In summery. Great hotel, very clean, great location. Service staff amazing, attentive. Five stars! I would recommend highly and would book again if I return to Vienna. (Highly likely)
