Stayed here for two nights in early November. The weather was mild but the hotel heating system meant it was like staying in the tropics. Across the road there was building work going on so it was impossible to sleep with the window open. The room itself was fine. Quite nicely designed bathroom but the bedroom was a bit on...

Stayed in Hotel Vienna in Dec 09 with the girlfriend for 2 nights. Believe it or not we couldn't find the original hotel we had (kind of half) booked, and after wandering around with heavy bags for an hour, stopped in here out of exhaustion. Girl at reception was very nice and helpful. No problem whatsoever booking in Paddy and...

Nice hotel for a weekend in Wien : just few minutes of walking distance from subway station Praterstern. Only three stops from old city center (Stephansplatz) and the same distance to the station where you can catch a train to the airport. Very close to the famous Prater funfair park. Inexpensive supermarket and some cafes/bars near the hotel. Hotel staff,...

We stayed in vienna for just a day. Due some delays our plan changed and we lost our hotel booking in another hotel. Vienna hotel could find us a room for a day. This was very helpful as we were traveling with two kids. Also they were very helpful as we had some challenge of lost baggage. The hotel staff...

The room is clean and modern, with floating floorboards instead of carpet, and large easy-to-find light switches, etc. The double bed is just two beds pushed together, but my wife and I found our respective sides very comfortable. A large screen wall-mounted TV allows good viewing from the bed, and there is a desk with desk chair, as well as...

I stayed one night in the single room and was very pleasantly surprised by the high standard finish of the room, obviously recently renovated. The single bed was extra wide so better than other European singles. The bathroom was completely glass walled so I could watch TV from the shower! Some noise from the corridor, but no street noise. Reception...

We found the service excellent, particularly Alexander the night manager. He has excellent English and is a mine of information. I thought the room was big for hotels on the continent and obviously newly refurbished. ( In fact they were working on the rooms on floor 2 when we were there). The only criticism I hadm and its only minor,...

Hotel Vienna offered a nice stay on our 3-day trip to Vienna. The hotel is located on quiet street so we had a good sleep without any interfering traffic noise. Hotel staff were very nice and everything worked well. Our room (23) was modern and spacious with great double bed and big flat TV. There were some renovating works going...

Previous reviews of this hotel were spot on! The hotel is situated in a quiet cul de sac, very centrally situated and within easy walking distance to the shopping centre and St. Stephan Cathedral. Our room was comfortable and well fitted. The reception staff were very friendly and able to communicate well in English. The breakfast was superb.

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
