In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

Bedroom and shower room were clean, well maintained and properly appointed to 4 star standards. Very nice rainfall shower. Bed was maybe a little hard for my taste. Any contact I had with the staff was easy and pleasant. There are a few bars very close by but as it was

This hotel is situated close to most things you need; easy walking distance to Stephansdom, the Schwedenplatz subway station and the direct bus to the airport. It is a party area though, with lots of bars, so do not expect a quiet neighbourhood (we did not hear much of it on the

Dear Mercure Guest! Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Mercure Vienna First. I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. At Mercure, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. We regret the noise outside during the night over the weekend. We are working very close together with our neighborhood and the police to guarantee our guests their well deserved sleep. Due to a technical problem the elevator was not working for a few hours on Sunday. But the problem was solved on the same day. We do apologize for the stoppage and the inconvenience we have caused. Of course I will forward your comments regarding the breakfast buffet and the strange smell in the restaurant to the responsible department. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence. We also apologize that only in one room was a welcome gift inside. Please Rest assured that we value our guests very much and this was a mistake from our side that was not intended. Once again we deeply regret your bad impressions during your stay in Vienna. We appreciate your sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future. Kind regards Kerstin Allabauer Front Office Assistant Manager

Nice hotel; great location; pleasant helpful staff; well appointed room, but would we stay again? Very doubtful. If the window was open, it was too noisy to sleep. If the window was shut, it was too hot to sleep, even though the temperature setting was as low as it would go.

Stayed here for 3 nights in September in a large room on the 3rd floor that looked out over a side street and some restaurants. We caught a taxi from the train station that weaved its way through a series of narrow one way streets in the old part of the city and came to a stop
