Just back from 3 nights here. Very friendly staff and a good location in a quiet cul-de-sac by the Strudlhof Steps but a road away from the main street into Vienna. Also just over 5 mins walk to the U4 underground station. Our room was great - large and with a big shower bath and separate toilet. The toiletries provided are shower gel and soap dispensers on the wall so no shampoo or conditioner etc. Breakfast was excellent with a huge selection to choose from. Would recommend staying here.
Good nice hotel. Very friendly and polite staff. Good quality breakfast. Location is just great! Rather strange hours of check in and check out - 3 pm check in, 11am check out. We came earlier, at 12. And we were said that our room was not ready. It was ok, but, after us people came and just got their room right away. That was pretty strange 😅 but probably another type of room. Little disappointing was also shampoo. On the dispenser and no conditioner. Also our room was the last at the hall (415). Probably there wasso technical little room near or outer air conditioner, so it was rather annoying noise all the time and during all night. No extra pillow for person, and pillow are so thin, so even you fold it - doesn’t help. Blankets are probably old: partly fluffy, partly just nothing...…
Me and mum stayed here for 2 nights, to see Vienna and Christmas markets. We booked through British airways as a flight and hotel package. Generous size room with a big bathroom. Room has everything you need. Only thing I would say is the room was too warm and you couldn’t control it, only to make it warmer with the radiator. Apart from that it was lovely! Rooms were clean and beds comfy. Very easy to get to the hotel from the airport. CAT from Vienna airport to Wien 16 minutes and the change for the subway a few stops and 11 min walk from the subway. Tram stop about 3-4 min walk from hotel. Shops and restaurants nearby. Great location - would recommend!
My room was a good size and clean. Very simple. The bathroom was also simple and didn't include any amenities such as shampoo, conditioner or body wash. There is a handwash pump on the wall however this seemed to contain the same liquid as in the one by the basin. For a 4 star hotel I expect more. I was travelling by myself and this was evident when I came into the room and the double bed only had 1 single sized quilt and 1 pillow. Bathroom also only had 1 towel. I did ask for 2 more pillows to be brought up and this wasn't a problem. The breakfast that was included was simple but good. Amazing sized tea cups!! Best I have ever had in a hotel. The hotel is a good 20 minute walk from the nearest U station which was a pain, especially at night when I was walking by myself. So keep this in mind if you book. This hotel was booked as part of a package for me so I have given the distance feedback to them as the distance from the U station was an issue for me.…
please take care of your credit card (data). The front desk is very chaotic. Invoices for the rooms are not printed and handed out by default. (I had to claim) Sometimes, rooms are charged twice! Credit card numbers of customers can be seen by nearly everybod who passes by the front desk.
Stayed here for 2 nights as part of an organised trip. The best thing about the room was that it was very large with a separate loo and bathroom, and was also very quiet. Bad things? The air con wasn't working (although to be fair, they had provided a fan). One of the curtains was hanging off. There was a bottle of water on the side for which they wanted 5 euros. The washbasin was yellow with age, and all the fittings (bedroom and bathroom) are really old and outdated. Cleanliness wasn't brilliant. The loo brush, for example, was sitting in a container of brown water - doesn't take too much imagination to know what that was. Gross. There are no tea making facilities! I was told if I wanted tea or coffee I could get it from the bar, but the bar isn't always open or staffed. The staff seemed disinterested and fed up, although polite. We went to the bar for a beer (beer taps looked promising), only to be told the taps hadn't worked for years. we had bottled beer, but after a bottle each they had no more. (They said they would go and get some, but we gave up after 20 minutes waiting and went out). The thing that most alarmed me was the 3 lifts. In all of them the control panel was hot to the touch, and smelt hot too. I have never come across this before. I had visions of it catching fire with us in the lift, so we used the stairs. No one could describe this as a 4 star. It's like revisiting the 1970's in decor, and was more like some sort of hostel. It has to be one of the worst hotels I have stayed in for many years.…
Stayed here for 3 nights and would definitely stay here again! The staff on the front desk were super friendly and very helpful. The room was good, modern and most importantly, clean. The location was great; close to couple of bus/tram stations (about 5 min walk) and the area around it was vital as it had a lot of supermarkets and restaurants. Couple of “bad” things are the wifi; very weak in the room but at the door its great and the AC because its old it kinda have a loud noise when its on. Other than that it was perfect :)!
+ We arrived at midnight of our reservation and 24hours reception was glad to accept us and provide us with the keys to our room + Comfy and quite big + Kept our bags after check out until late. + Really good price for Vienna. Value for money deal. - The truth is that the room was like a really old 5 star hotel, rather than a normal one. It had the luxury staff, but with rather old furniture. - It did not feel 100% percent clean, but was great for one night. - Location was good for us, but if you are looking for a close to city stay, think again.
this hotel was selected for us as part of a trip to Vienna and we paid for an upgraded hotel. This hotel is at best a 2 star hotel not a 4 star as advertised. The pictures are not the reality of the property or the rooms. we walked in looked at our room and walked out and booked the NH hotel in central Vienna, that was a great hotel. This hotel is a very tired property that hasn't been updated since the 1970's. if you booked at this hotel, please cancel the booking or you are going to be very disappointed. the staff tried to put us in another room but it was no better. the location is not good and the rooms are in desperate need of a total renovation.
An important lesson learned . Never let an agency(like WINGBUDDY) book your hotel before checking out the reviews yourself on Trip Advisor. #1 If a you can't afford to keep the lights on in the hallways, you can't afford to run a hotel. We had to turn on the hall lights while we looked for our room.#2.The furniture did indeed, as stated in a previous review, looked like a college dorm. The wood furniture needed to be re-finished.#3 My husband kept saying " We're not staying here." and I really thought "No. I can handle this." until I sat on the mushy bed.The worse part was telling the lovely innocent staff that we were leaving even after they showed us another room. We booked "upgraded" hotels. This is not enough info. Do your homework before booking.
