The room only had 1 outlet for 6 people. There were only 3 showers for the entire floor, and the showers cut off every 5 seconds to "save water". The breakfast was amazing though! I enjoyed everything. There was a lot of food to choose from. They have a mini "kitchen" to use for lunch and dinner. It only has...

We came to Vienna for a short family trip and stayed in a family room for 6 people. The room and all the other facilities were spacious and clean; the staff was ok. But sharing bathroom and toilet wasn`t kids friendly. Also, it was verly loud and quite scary at night - there were some people screaming outside on the...

My friend and I stayed here for our one night in Vienna. It's right off the metro and very easy to get to, even though it is outside the city center. The hostel was clean and provided free breakfast. For the price we paid, it was perfect. I can't speak to the atmosphere as we only slept there by there...

They have good satisfying breakfasts, a reliable wi-fi connection everywhere in the hostel and even outside it. It's placed in a peaceful green district right near the metro station, about 20 minutes from the city center by metro. As for drawbacks...Though there were relatively clean rooms, I saw a cockroach in the bath room. There is no soap in the...

It's a clean and nice hostel but very far from the city center. I don't recommend you to go there if you are traveling with a heavy backpack. I had to walk a lot because the busses and trains were limited at that time, and it was really far. Overall it's good to stay there if you're not in a...

The breakfast was really good, the transportation to the city center was also good but the staff wasn´t the friendliest, gave very poor information about the city (car renting city bikes etc), the rooms where to warm to sleep in during summertime, they should get some fans. I am not to pleased with my stay here but it is cheap...

The location of this hostel is definitely outside the city center, but once the construction on the metro is finished, will be more easily and quickly reached. It's a quiet hostel, with a great front and back yard - very peaceful and green. It has a lot of things to do at the hostel. The staff were very helpful and...

Staying in Hietzing

Neighborhood Profile
Vienna’s 13th district has always been in the shadow of Schönbrunn Palace and its gardens, but has interesting hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Allow half a day for the imposing Habsburg residence and the gardens with Gloriette belvedere. Reserve the other half to discover the secret charms of this posh residential neighborhood. Sneak out of the gardens at Hietzinger Tor (Hietzing Gate) and head down Hietzinger Hauptstrasse for Kaiserpavillon (Emperor’s pavilion), an Art Nouveau gem right on top of U4’s metro railtracks. At local institutions Café Dommayer and restaurant Plachutta you can mingle with residents, their families and friends. Dommayer has risen to fame since waltz king Johann Strauss and his orchestra performed there regularly. If you want to go beyond private villa gazing visit Klimtvilla and Hermesvilla. Art Nouveau genius Gustav Klimt had his last studio in a now beautifully renovated villa, which is open during spring and summer. Hermesvilla at Lainzer Tiergarten animal enclosure and nature park is a must for all romantics and fans of Empress Sissi.
