This is a beautiful little hotel. Great bed and linens (actually bought same duvets for home). Breakfasts were delicious, including freshly prepared lattes and eggs. Close to subway and walking distance to many museums and sights. Spent a week here and loved every minute Highly recommend.

Wonder hotel small boutique hotel, great location and very helpful staff. The staying and decoration of this hotel is a wonder in itself. It is uniquely decorated and furnished, and I guarantee you've never seen anything like it before. Every accessory is special. The breakfast was fantastic, and staff all terrific. The espresso maker in the room was an added... More

We stayed at the Das Tyrol for 4 nights 16-20 July. The location was perfect near the Museum Quarter and very close to the Ubahn which takes you to all major sights / attractions. Having great shopping right outside the hotel (Mariahilfer Strasse) was fabulous. The entire staff, especially the receptionists were wonderful and welcoming. Our room was small but... More

We'd booked our stay having read previous reviews on trip advisor and this hotel didn't disappoint in any way. It is charmingly low key and staff delightful. Breakfast is absolutely perfect....every possible taste catered for, and for us staying a couple of nights for a wedding, was centrally located to walk everywhere as needed and staff helpful with advice on... We stayed at Hotel Das Tyrol from 6-9 Jul. The hotel has an outstanding location right on Mariahilfer Strabe, the main shopping street in Vienna. The hotel is walking distance from Museumquarter and well connected by Ubahn to all major attractions. The rooms are small but tastefully done with all conveniences taken care of. The housekeeping is outstanding with the... More

Spent five days here recently. Weather was incredible and so is Vienna which helps. The hotel has a good location. We walked most places. The staff were extremely helpful with tips and making reservations. Breakfasts were really great too. Rooms were clean and fairly big. Price was reasonable. Good place to stay.

Brief summary: very comfortable room; excellent service; wonderful breakfast buffet with cooked-to-order eggs if you want; great location near the attractions and easy access to transit. We stayed 4 nights in room #11, which was quiet even though it was on the first floor and overlooked the side street. It seems all rooms would be pretty quiet. This room has... More

We spent three nights at the Das Tyro in early July. Wonderful hotel in the museum district. Close to the metro which provides easy access to all the sights in the city – and it’s just a short walk to the city center with all its shops and restaurants. The hotel is whimsical with all the Disney paintings on the... More

Based on reviews in Tripadvisor my husband and me (~40 y) selected this hotel as we wanted a good location, a smallish hotel with all comforts. And just as the other reviewers we can confirm that it is a great location, great hotel and no noises at all. We recommend this hotel to everyone.

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
