We stayed here for 2 nights with my husband. First of all, we had a problem finding a parking lot Thursday night. The hotel is old but very nice. The lady at the reception was very friendly. The room was great and nice, but the...More
According to the rules, this is a 3 star hotel. But according to the experience of staying there I would say they earn at least 4 stars.
The building is a beautiful old, renovated structure, with high ceilings, wide staircases and double windows.
If you are on business or touristing in Vienna. Conveniently close to tram and subway lines. Their breakfast buffet is very decent as well, and I would give them a "good" instead of an average if TripAdvisor had it...
I stayed at the Hotel Schwalbe for 1 night for work (business trip). I absolutely love this hotel because it wasn't another faceless corporate chain. The staff were very friendly. I was made to feel at home - a real home away from home.
After a day of long trip when my wife and I arrived at this hotel, we were told that we have to share the toilet with other rooms which was quite shocking considering the price range. When we expressed our discontent and asked to change...More

Booked a lowbudget room - didn't read clearly. Discussing like on a bazar.
We offerd something different.
We want happy guests in our house.
And these guests would never be happy.

The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high
street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).
