We spent two nights at the hotel. When we arrived there were absolutely nobody waiting for the guests or help them with the luggage. The receptionist was nice, lobby’s athmosphere too but nothing beyond it. Rooms and hallways are so old fashioned almost like B&B. It is hard to communicate with the housekeeping staff and the restaurant’s too. They are unlikely to speak english and sometimes german as well. At the restaurant (breakfast time) there was nothing like the kempinski standard. Not offered the morning shot, there was no menu on some tables and nor asked if we wanted something from it. There were only a few guest but there were used plates and glasses on almost every table. On the second morning we were asked if we want coffe. Instead we told a pot of black tea, but the ukranian/russian hostess did not understand it so we got coffee. There is a little space in the restaurant filled with babychairs and extra chairs , it is without any door, but with an opened paravan. Finally on our second breakfast a lady closed the paravan so guest could not see the chaos in there. These all small details what matter. At night we decided to try the lobby. We were sitting there like 40 minutes without anybody came to us, even they looked at us many times. Other guests got so angry, many left the lobby, and many of them told the waiter it was nonsense (i can relate). There were a lot of staff and all the guest were just waiting and waiting. It was absolutely a disaster and a very big chaos. What we can say for all section we saw. At the reception there is a little room behind the receptionist with and opened door so guest can see the things there, what should not. Staff are not kind and polite, a lot of nationality, hard to communicate. To finalize: it is absolutely not a Kempinski experience, we tried some, but it is the worst of all. We are so dissapointed.…
Upon checking in, I was immediately greeted with friendly staff. My friend and I spent two nights in the Junior Suite, which was not only beautiful, but extremely spacious as well. Loved that there was so much closet space. Not to mention, the bathroom had heated tiles. I slept like a baby in the king-size bed and I looked forward to the breakfast buffet everyday (because it was just that good!) The location was perfect too. Short walk to major attraction sights and the tram stops weren’t too far away either. Overall very impressed with my stay and would definitely recommend!
I had an excellent experience during my stay at the Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna. I travelled from Doha for business trip and actually after completing, i extended for leisure with my best friend. Hotel location is great as it is near to sightseeing areas by walking distance and easy transportation. Reception was very welcoming and at anytime very helpful, my room was cleaned daily and consistently, the food was very tasty, breakfast had a lot of choices and I loved “Edvard” restaurant, so tasty food and very professional staff. I met both pianists in the evenings at the lounge, the play so nice and the ambience is so elegant. Thank you for the exceptional stay and I will come back for sure😁
Had stayed for 6 nights at Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna it was awesome .. location and ambience outstanding, hospitality of staff beyond words, food was delicious, meticulously maintained rooms and surroundings! Overall a great and memorable experience.. will highly recommend to anyone Thank you all the great time we have in this amazing hotel
Surinder was the bartender again tonight. He is truly an amazing bartender. Not only with this warm and kind personality that makes any guest in the bar feel relaxed and comfortable, but his ability to make the lair excellent and innovative drinks has been an amazing experience. He Lauren to my wish about getting an old fashioned but with a ginger twist to it. He engineered and produced a drink that was a wonderful combination of an old fashioned with ginger and orange flavor. I even agreed with him that he should call it the Viking Old Fashioned because I’m from Denmark (I’m an investment banking executive from a hedge fund) . Surinder made my afternoon (2 hours) absolutely wonderful! Best of recommendations. OJ
The service quality was so excellent, we opted to eat dinner in the lobby one night and skip our reservation out. We stayed over NYE and expected services to be strained but they weren’t in the slightest. Location is excellent as it’s a five min walk from the attractions but far enough away that it’s insulated from the noise. Even the front door bellman was pleasant. We loved the breakfast spread too.
We spent Dec 30, 2022-January 2nd at this hotel. We booked because we wanted the BEST hotel and to be able to walk to everything in the old city, so our standards were high, but they surpassed it all. I would also like to single out Gregor, the Head Concierge and his staff for their amazing service. My travel advisor dealt with them before we got there and I asked for help while there. We had assistance with everything from dinner reservations to helping me understand my train tickets. Everyone was I plan to go back to Vienna, and I will not look anywhere else but here to stay.
Old sofa, dirty curtins and floor, used hygiene set. The price was 800 Euro per one night. For this price a expected more. Other 5* hotels were much cheper this day in Wien. But till this visit I trusted Kempinski brand. Kempinski hotels have nice brakfasts. So do Palais, but Sevice during the brakfast is only ok, ok like in 4* hotel, not like 5* hotel. Food and drinks in the lobby bar not very well, again only ok. We had to wait long for service, it was not that busy that evening. .
Not what we expected . Not 5 star service Not a good check in Not told about the key card being required for lift etc Room not ready for hours First breakfast so bad Not enough staff No instructions on breakfast etiquette or coffee offers , plates and used crockery not taken away god it was chaos Second breakfast was better, more staff but still just ok , Berlin staff were exceptional The worse was to come Looking forward to the Spa all day on the Tuesday We left it till the evening to relax And then a family arrive at 19.00hrs with a 3 year old splashing about IN A SPA UNREAL and the staff were not helpful My husband went down to reception to give our views and was not happy With staff response Dissatisfied and sad to give this review because I really expected more Not sure if we will be back…
Highly recommend a stay in the Palais Kempinski Hotel Vienna. The staff were warm and friendly and helpful, and our concierges Miroslav and Gregor, provided outstanding care and customer service. We needed to find a restaurant for lunch on Xmas Day that could accommodate our gluten free requirements and we were delighted with the concierge’s choice of Fuhrich Restaurant. Kempinski is a perfectly located hotel, close to Xmas markets, restaurants and museums.
