I was there on business in one of my favourite cities in the world. This was my first time at a Kempinski and it was a lovely experience. The location was convenient to everything. I did not have a chance to try any of the amenities or the dining in the hotel but from what I saw it was as it should be from a luxury hotel of this calibre. I appreciated the fact that the bathroom were spacious and had a separate shower and bathtub. Thank you.

The name ‚Kempinski‘ should already tell you everything you have to know. Being part of the oldest European luxury hotel chain, the Palais Hansen Kempinski has no trouble living up to its reputation. Located conveniently close to many sightseeing spots, restaurants and shopping streets, it impresses with its mixture of traditional elegance and modern simplicity. The rooms are impeccable, as is the rest of the hotel. However, the highest praise must be given to the staff. Reception, housekeeping, room service and the concierge division are all beyond friendly and work seemlessly together. Their friendliness and dedication is second to none, making sure all your needs are being taken care off. The in-house spa deserves a special mention as well, offering a range of treatments to those seeking out its services. The prices reflect the quality of the residence, but rest assured you won’t regret a single cent spent.

We stayed here for 2 nights for our anniversary Friday to Sunday. The hotel was relatively quiet and we were very happy to receive a substantial upgrade for our room. We stayed in suite 329 which had its own lounge, free mini bar with soft drinks, tea and coffee facilities, large tv (limited English channels) good size bedroom with another tv, the bed was comfortable, however, the pillows were awful. They had a tablet next to the bed where you can order extra items such as blankets, pillows (there is a pillow menu!). There were 3 large wardrobes with mirrors in different areas of the suite, dressing gowns and the comfiest slippers we have had, a bath and separate shower which was amazing and both had touch menus instead of taps which was great. There are key cards to access the lift to get to your floor and your room. We used the pool area, however, only once, quickly as the pool was small and quite cold. There was a sauna (60 degrees) and a separate Finnish sauna (90 degrees) and a wet room. There was a gym but we didn’t use this, however, the equipment looked good. We paid extra for the buffet breakfast and it wasn’t as vast as we have experienced in other 5* hotels but it was fine. They had juicers so you can do your own juices which was good. The service we received throughout our stay was exceptional. They were very happy to help and very friendly. We were able to get taxis just outside and the door staff arranged this for us as and when needed. Umbrellas were available as it was raining on and off during our stay. The location was good with links close by and a tube stop at the bottom of the road. The Cafe Landtmann was about 10 minutes walk. There was a supermarket also about 10 minutes away.

Historic building, sensitively and tastefully converted into a top of the line luxury hotel. The public areas are spacious, filled with natural light and welcoming. The bedrooms are large, nicely furnished, comfortable and well equipped, Service was exemplary throughout, right from our arrival at 8.00am, when the front desk went out of their way to find us a room and check us in immediately. There was a small incident one night, when room service mistakenly brought us a meal in the middle of the night (nothing sinister, just a simple error), but the hotel team went out of their way to deal with it. Breakfasts are good and the food and drinks service in the lounge is excellent. I thoroughly recommend this hotel.

This is the second time I have stayed at a Kempinski Hotel and I'm a big fan! The rooms are lovely and the staff is friendly and hospitable. We found ourselves having to order room service twice during our stay and I have to say it was the best hands down! Where many times in room dining can be the weak link in a hotel, this was clearly not the case at the Palais Hansen! I can still taste the club sandwich! The building itself is large but it was very quiet inside the room. The only thing that bothered me was that twice I called down to the concierge and apparently they were busy so the phone rolled over to one of the front desk staff. The first time I asked about hiring a private car to take us to Salzberg and I was told I was calling too late to make that happen for the next day but that she would leave a message for the conciege to call me in the morning and the second time I called I was hoping that the concierge could make reservations for afternoon tea the following day in the hotel. I was told that there weren't any reservations available but that I could just show up and hopefully they could fit me in. We did go the next day for tea and we were easily accommodated. In retrospect it just felt like it was easier for the front desk staff to tell me "no" to my requests then to actually make them happen. Not sure, but that's how I felt. We did see the concierge in person several times and he couldn't have been more helpful! All in all we enjoyed our stay and if we found ourselves in Vienna again I wouldn't hesitate to stay at he Palais Hansen!
