In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

This (Oct 2019) was the third time I stayed at this hotel because the first two times were excellent. This time wasn't perfect, but it was still okay. I love the actual hotel and the location. The rooms are big and spacious, the bathrooms are nice, the lobby is beautiful, the location is beyond convenient. The bad thing about this stay is that there was MAJOR construction going on immediately around the hotel. You cannot get dropped off by a taxi in front. In fact, we had to be dropped off several blocks away, which wasn't ideal coming from the airport after 12 hours of traveling and with all of our luggage. The gentleman who checked us in was not very enthusiastic, either. We stayed in a classic room with a king-sized bed. It was very nice with a beautiful chandelier and traditional Viennese decor. The bathroom was huge, marble, and modern with a very good hairdryer. The only problem with the room was that the sound of construction was LOUD and started very early in the morning. It wasn't quite as bad with the windows closed, but we wanted the breeze since it was in the mid-60's/low-70's when we were there. The service wasn't great. The hotel seemed quite understaffed, but maybe October just isn't as busy a time for them. On our first night we repeatedly tried to call to order room service and no one answered. My husband finally called the front desk and was told that room service would be alerted but, unbelievably, they still never answered the phone. After about 45 minutes he ended up just going out to pick up food even though we were exhausted. The next morning on our way out we requested more pillows in our room (to the same gentleman who checked us in), and when we returned later that day they were not there. It took two more phone calls to get them delivered. Check out was seamless and the staff who checked us out were very friendly and attentive. I would consider staying here again since I had had good service in the past, but definitely not while the construction is going on.

The hotel is in a great location on the main shopping street and central to everything you want to see and do in Vienna. The room was very spacious, quiet and clean. The staff were helpful and the interior of the hotel is beautiful and old world.

This hotel does not warrant 5 star as we found our check to be 1 hr late for us to get in there Then we found the room to be very noisy as we was not told when booking that there is a massive underground car park being built but to top it all the plastic window in the bathroom was hanging on one hinge and was not sealing to frame that’s why you felt you was in the street from the noise and draught when I called reception they said they was fully booked because I was not standing for that they manage to find one next how amazing The staff was not accommodating at all the rooms don’t have any tea making facilities tv and radio not working properly towels are only small guest towels and of not good quality no flannels supplied toiletries are very basic and we found dust on many objects furniture is in need of a complete overall as very tired we have stayed in many hotels in the past with less stars and found them a lot better than this I could go on but I would think twice before you book this hotel I can understand if it was cheap but it wasn’t The only good thing which is positive is location Stayed in: Classic Double Room December 2019 Helpful Not helpful

This is a perfect city centre hotel, very very close to all the shops and sightseeing and restaurants, The hotel was very clean , the rooms were very very comfortable, lovely big bathroom (only thing missing in the room was a kettle for tea and coffee, you do however have a fridge ,so a kettle would of been nice to have as well).we didn’t have any breakfast because there’s so many cafes close by, but we did decide to use the restaurant on one evening, the food and service was excellent, and I would definitely recommend you to try the restaurant overall this hotel was very good and we would definitely recommend it..
