Can not agree this is a 5 star hotel. The room furniture is extremely dated very old dark wood and not up to date with current needs such as usb ports, adaptable plugs or updated style.

No tea or coffee facilities in the room but cups and saucer by fridge no idea why..
no kettle given so with a baby I had to go to reception every time to ask them to boil their kettle for hot water.. (thankfully staff were extremely helpful)

2 single beds put together to create to look of double but single quilt covers so you and your partner have to basically sleep separate.

For ex cabin crew that has travelled around the world and can appreciate different countries have different standards but this can not be classed as 5 star for rooms anymore 3 star seems correct..

On the plus the staff plus location was great and is the main appeal to the property but competition is coming up in local area and this hotel needs to make a change or down grade to lower prices or upgrade rooms to compete with other hotels.

The location is excellent , the room a good size and very clean .
The staff had no name tags , very , very unfriendly .
The tall guy w no name tag was particularly rude & condescending to me on the day of check in .
I noticed in several reviews the complaints about the staff’s attitude, it seems it is accepted by the management since the bad behavior continues .
The bed sheets & towels were for a 3 star hotel .
The comforter was vvv small for 2 people . We had 1 twin comforter for both of us .
The hand soap as in 2 star hotel , just a tiny soap on the sink and a shower gel / hair shampoo dispenser in the shower which was very hard to squeeze.
The basket with the toiletries pictured on the hotel site are amazing ! The reality was different, you can see the photo of the tiny soap .
From a 5 star hotel you would expect they would provide a courtesy bottle of water on arrival . I guess it was too expensive to do it .
No coffee maker . Even Motel 6 has one .

A family member found this hotel for seven of us and it was a brilliant choice for location. What was nice was they gave us the four rooms all together in a side wing and all the rooms were really large. We had a large separate lounge area which led to the bedroom and a lovely bathroom. The only thing I missed was tea/coffee making facilities, there was cups in the cupboard but that was it. We opted to have room only rather than bed and breakfast as we felt it was pricey and wouldn't really get value for money as we would have to eat quite a lot to get your moneys worth and some of us eat light first thing. We are glad we made this decision as literally two minutes from the hotel door is an excellent place where it suits all requirements serving hot breakfasts, fresh fruit and yogurts, cereal, croissants etc and very reasonably priced. We had planned to eat at different venues each morning but as this suited us all so well we ate there everyday except one day it was closed due to a national holiday there but there are plenty of places close by. If we go back I would do the same again this hotel and eat out for breakfasts.

Rooms and furniture are old. The first room that I was given was smelly, and I had to move into another one. I understand the need to keep the hotel old feel, however, furniture needs to be comfortable as well, the beds/mattress were hard and uncomfortable as well as the chairs and the sofa...
The hotel did not have an extra duvet when I asked for it, to place it on my bed!! How can a five-star hotel run out of a duvet/ blanket!! I didn't ask for everyday cleaning but, whenever i needed a new towel or shampoo, it took them hours to deliver and after calling 2-3 times for them to deliver...not a good service...
I was especially not happy that after a 10 night stay in an expensive double business room, I had to move into another room when I extended my stay for additional 4 nights, just because the new booking was slightly different category, even though the photos on their site showed similar room type, despite asking the management multiple times to stay in my same room to save the hustle of packing and unpacking and waiting for the new room to be cleaned...
The reception staff were unfriendly and lacked good manners, except the late night shift gentleman who was always friendly and courteous ...Most reception staff did not speak English! Which sometimes made communication awkward...
I will not stay in this hotel on my next visit to Vienna.... I always stay in a five-star hotels around the world, and this is, by far, my worst experience...

Excellently located hotel, friendly staff, but management leaves much to be desired:

The website makes extensive mention of a restaurant but there was none (not since the corona pandemic, according to the waiter).

According to booking.com, the hotel was supposed to be wheelchair accessible Under the wheelchair sign was mentioned (translated into English) “Accessibility, Upper floors accessible by elevator”. It is true that there was an elevator, but they neglected to mention that the stairs inside and outside were not provided with threshhold aids, only steep facilities for suitcases. Furthermore, the space between bed and bathroom was too small for a wheelchair or rollator. All this made the trip very difficult for my wife, who necessarily uses a rollator and who accompanied me on this business trip.

For a late check-out they charged € 80. Certainly in the circumstances of the case I would not have charged anything, especially since the room was not occupied on the day of departure.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience here. Let's start with a positive, fantastic location. Centre of everything we needed. As for the negative, we had booked a limousine service with the hotel and it failed to arrive. This is very openly advertised on the website. We were left standing in the airport and eventually had to get a taxi. I then asked when I got there, could we use the limousine service to return to airport at the end of our visit and they also arranged it for me, a mini van arrived. Very dissatisfied. Also, the breakfast is €25 per person, not even close to being worth it. The breakfast rooms to small too, we had to share our table with another couple. Lots of places close to hotel for better value breakfast.

Hotel with no atmosphere or staff service at all. No Christmas decorations except a few floral arrangements that looked dead. Check in staff rude, bar staff rude. Considering this is supposed to be a 5 star hotel it needs a complete overhaul starting with improving their staff attitudes to customers. The corridor walls in level 4 need addressing paint job is appalling. When we checked in we were given no information about the hotel, map, breakfast or bar poor. The breakfast was €25 each and not worth it, food and beverages not restocked. Again given no information about options you could clearly get hot food but menu card only on certain tables. Restaurant area was so busy people were being turned away? In a 5 star hotel? This hotel should only be a 3 star!
Cups in room but no coffee making facilities - in a 5 star this should be the Nespresso machines. We saw kettles left in the hall ways, also very poor but we’re not advised we could ask for one.

Hotel is playing too much on its history it needs to get up to date only redeeming feature was its location

Nice hotel. Great location. Helpful staff.

Our issue was with our room. The actual room falls far short of what is promised on the booking website. The room was in the attic with sloping roofs that made walking around difficult - it was even more so in the bathroom where the sloping roof made it difficult to stand up straight in the shower. The description also said "city view" - the only view out of the windows in this attic room were the walls on the edge of the building. Had I been aware of these issues, I would have booked elsewhere.

Pros:
Beautiful building and ideal location on the main pedestrian shopping street, two minutes walk to either Stephansplatz or Karlplatz.

Cons:
Our room consisted of two single beds pushed together with two small single duvets. Considering we asked for double room, it would have been nice to have 1 large duvet.
Others in our party requested extra pillows, whilst these were delivered. They were delivered to the wrong room. Not a big issue but small details make the difference.
We awoke on our final day to find the previous days cleaner had removed our towels and hadn’t replaced them. We requested some from reception, however, they still hadn’t arrived when we checked out 2 hours later.

The best thing about the hotel concerns the location, very central and really convenient, then the price: I paid around €900 from Monday to Saturday in July (24 - 29).
However I would not recommend it, the cleanliness of the rooms is not excellent. The services are just sufficient, the staff are sufficiently courteous but nothing more. 5 stars exaggerated.

Probably the easiest way is to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel. This will cost approximately 36 Euro and take about 20 minutes without traffic. A viable alternative is the train. The train takes 15 minutes and costs only 3.90 Euro. I would strongly suggest a taxi from the end station to the Ambassador. After all, you want to arrive in style at the Ambassador. Pleasant travels.

Yes there is. One I Option is to give it to the HOTEL to park. This costs €37 And you can't access your car unless you are picking it up. I believe there are car parks nearby which are much cheaper and I would recommend these. Parking in town centre Vienna on the street is generally very complicated
