Hotel Altstadt is a beautiful property, in a good location, which was perfect for my 7 night stay in Vienna. My room had a fantastic view, was nicely appointed, and was clean and comfortable. The main common area/salon is large and provides a wonderful space for a delicious breakfast, lovely afternoon tea, a light dinner, or just relaxing with a book. The rooftop terrace is also nice. Everyone is very kind and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay and highly recommend.

Lovely hotel, excellent service and fantastic (vegan) breakfast. Great room. 10 min walk to the Altstad and nearby lots of shopping in a variety of (design)shops. Best vegan pizza and vegan bakery within 5 min walk.

Charming part of the city. Concierge was very helpful with excellent sightseeing and dining recommendations. Accommodations themselves were very swanky. Comfortable lounge for relaxing between activities during the day.

What an amazing and truly unique hotel. An excellent European breakfast was included along with Tea time everyday, offering a giant selection of sweets, candy’s and cakes. The staff was outstanding, helpful and sincere in all regards. I will return every time I am in Vienna. So many things to see, drink and eat within a 20 minute walking distance.

Room Tip: This is an easy $14e taxi or public transit from the HBF. Walkable if you are agile and in shape.

Such a beautiful hotel. Lovely staff, excellent room and facilities. Marvellous breakfast - one of our best experiences. Location is convenient for main Vienna sites although is in a quiet location with great restaurants and cafés within 5 minutes. A very enjoyable experience which made our three nights in the city even more special. Very highly recommended

Wish I had more time to enjoy the hotel, the afternoon tea and rooftop terrace. I also would have liked to take a tour to see more of the art collection that it houses and proudly displays. That, of course, might be the perfect reason to stay there at least one more time.

We stayed 3 nights in September. The hotel seems to be made up of at least two old buildings with wide staircases, paneled hallways with interesting art, and charming public rooms. The breakfast buffet was really good and they offered extra things you could order like fancy eggs; in the afternoon they had a self service bar and free delicious cake and sweets. The staff was helpful and friendly. Finding our room the first time was a challenge due to the nearly random numbering and color coding system used to identify rooms and floors, and the fact that one of the lifts apparently skips a floor. Our room was big with a comfortable bed, a small minibar, and an unusual bathroom layout - one little room just for the shower, another just for a large sink, and another with the toilet and a small sink. It had a view onto an unattractive street, with very loud construction for a new metro station a block away starting quite early every morning. The double windows did mute the noise a lot, but keeping them closed wasn’t ideal as the AC was weak. But our traveling companions who had a courtyard room said their room was quiet. The neighborhood was busy with a combination of commercial and residential and had a good selection of restaurants (we liked La Pause pizza and Da Michele Italian since both were delicious, open late, and we could get in without a wait or booking ahead), and it was not too far to walk to shops, museums and tour bus stops.

A very nice and special place in the city centre, that we chose on recommendation by friends from Vienna. The concept of the Hotel with art everywhere is unique and we loved it a lot. We will be back!

Amazing hotel: Entirely decorated with carefully and tastefully selected artworks and antiques furniture. Located in a traditional old building in a central district, but with all modern appliances (great wifi). Caring and smiling staff. Perfectly clean. A cosy indoors bar + a rooftop that's a pretty and quiet paradise. Excellent breakfast. On top of that a remarkably equipped business meeting room with large windows. And no, they're not giving me any commission or free breakfast for this comment, I'm just a very happy client :-)
