We spent three nights here to visit the city and the Christmas markets. Part of the attraction was it offered single rooms, great for our daughter who was travelling with us. We were also not tied in to breakfast on our package, though in fact we ate there every morning as it was convenient and represented good value for money. You need to order it the night before. The hotel is situated in a residential area a short walk from the spectacular Schoenbrunn Palace. Although in the suburbs it is only a short walk to the underground station with frequent trains to the city centre; it took about 20 minutes usually including the walk. The rooms were comfortably furnished with TV, 2 armchairs and mini bar. Our small double room had a generous size bed but one side was against the wall which may not suit some people. Our room was overly warm so the helpful receptionist altered the thermostat for us to make it more comfortable. The shower room was spotless, the water was always hot and the shower powerful. Most of the rooms face a central courtyard away from the traffic noise so it was quite quiet. All the staff we came into contact with were friendly and very helpful. They spoke excellent English but patiently let us practise our German. We were delighted with our choice of accommodation. Top Tip: if you intend to travel to the hotel from the airport by taxi then let the hotel book you a cab; it works out about Euro15 cheaper than simply getting one at the airport.

Though the location is far away from city center, it is about 400 yards from Schonbrunn metro station and that connects you to all places in the city center. Schonbrunn Palace itself is just a walking distance away from the Pension. The property itself is a little old but well kept. Rooms are reasonably well furnished; simple but clean. Washrooms are clean and very basic. The staff is very courteous and helpful which made our stay quite comfortable,.

This was a solid hotel for the price. We stayed for 3 nights and had a nice stay. The staff was very kind and helpful. They had recommendations for sites to visit and how to get around. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Slightly outdated, but still nice. They had parking we were able to utilize, but make sure you reserve it in advance. They are very close to the ubahn stations, and it is a short walk to Schoenbrunn palace which is amazing. Breakfast selection was decent, but not the best we've had. Still adequate though.

Giant and clean rooms, wonderfully attentive and courteous staff, reasonable breakfast, excellent prices and very good location since guests get to stay very close to both Schönbrunn metro station and the Schönbrunn palace itself.

I have been regularly staying at this hotel since 2003 and i can honestly say it's one of the best value for money hotels in Europe. The location - adjoining the historically splendid Schönbrunn Castle and garden - is unrivalled, all while having a couple of underground stations 5 mins away, giving a traveller a 15 min access to downtown Vienna. The hotel itself is nondescript, with basic yet welcoming rooms equipped with flatscreen tvs, minibar, wifi and showers. Nothing luxurious but clean and homey. Which is also a general trait of the hotel. The manager is an extremely friendly and helpful person and he seems to hire and/or train his staff in this spirit because rarely have i been more welcome in any hotel anywhere in the world. If i were to mention one shortcoming it's the absence of a fitness room, which can be sometimes handy when it's too cold to jog in the Schönbrunn harden alingside squirrels. But knowing the manager, Mr. Nemeczky, it could be that he'll put one in place by the time i complete this post. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for any type of traveller, for short and long stays equally. You won't find better value and quality for the money they charge.

Last visited in 2012 and was our first choice when returning to Vienna. Located minutes from Schoenbrunn palace and the metro into the centre of town. If driving do book the underground car park. There is ongoing renovation taking place which did not disturb us and was not an issue. The room was huge with separate bedroom, bathroom and kitchen area and overlooked the central green space. The staff are very helpful and the breakfasts good. It is superb value, especially for Vienna, and deserves a much higher rating on the 'list'. You are staying in a good area next to the palace with easy access to town and secure parking, all at a very reasonable price. I would not hesitate to return.

I stayed 5 nights, and would highly recommend. The rooms were very clean and have individual bathrooms. Staff is very helpful and accommodating for English-speakers. The walk to the subway/metro/underground was only 5 minutes and you reach City Center in less than 15 minutes. Public transportation is fantastic! There are no good restaurants nearby (I tried the only 4!) but reaching other parts of the city is easy to find good food. Only negative is that the beds are very, very hard. Also, as information, there is no air conditioning, which isn't really that unusual.

Visited vienna recently and stayed at the pension schoenbrunn near the schoenbrunn palace. A fantastically practical place. The rates were very resonable. The rooms were huge, very well maintained and turned around. The wifi was very good. The breakfast is served in a nice lil restaurant with a bar. The buffet breakfast is diverse with many choices catering for all pallets. The reception desk was manned by Joerg and veronika who were very helpful in guiding us, arranging tour tickets and free pick up and drops from and to the pension. The palace schoenbrunn, palace gardens and the Zoo was precisely a 5 minute walk from the front door and so was the Schoenbrunn metro station with the U4 metro taking us to the opera hall located at the centre of the ringstadt in 15 minutes. About 2minutes walk from the front door to the nearest street corner takes you to two very fine restaurants. A definite place to stay in for family and kids. Thank you Joerg and Veronica. We will be back. Ramit Tezpal
