Detailed Reviews
A very traditional hotel which was spotlessly clean in all areas, Bedrooms were really comfortable, our rooms overlooked the courtyard and very quiet. Breafast had lots to offer and something to suit everyone. From the moment we arrived until we left the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The train station is only a few minutes walk away and the journey took about 20 minutes back to the airport. Excellent transport system nearby.

If you are looking for a hotel with flashy decor, state of the art gym, all day restaurants, room service, this is not the hotel for you. However, if you are looking for a quiet, charming hotel, impeccably clean, rich in history, friendly staff, minutes from transit, this is the place for you. After a 14 day stay here it really felt like ‘’home”. A lovely breakfast started each day and our particular room cleaner (Catalino) greeted us daily with a huge smile and ensured that we always came back to an impeccably clean room. This will be the first of many visits to this hotel for us. I have no hesitation recommending this hotel.

The location in the 2nd district, the proximity to the city center and to Prater, right on the U1 and U2 lines plus the impressive history of the hotel was what made us choose this hotel and good for us! Although a historic building, it had all the modern amenities, including air conditioning, which we appreciated because we stayed here during the hottest days (and nights!) of summer 2020. Unlike the modern hotels you can actually open the windows as much as you like for some fresh air, which I appreciated because I’d like to sleep with the window open. The room was clean, the wardrobe specious, the beds comfy, only the mattress a bit too soft for my liking. The breakfast was in form of a buffet and the choice was sufficient even for a vegetarian like myself. I also appreciated large cups for tea which are rarely available at other hotels. The bonus was that we could actually take the food outside and have our breakfast on the terrace. Parking was also conviniently situated in the courtyard. The hotel was also very quiet, we could hear no banging doors, no footsteps in the corridors etc. The only small issue that disturbed us a little was a non-functioning ventilator in the bathroom, which we assumed was due to the current covid-19 situation. Otherwise it was perfect. Very pleasant stay. I definitely recommend this hotel.

We had a triple premium room for 5 nights, which had a separate room for a 3rd person. Our room was very quiet at the end of a hall facing the courtyard; the shower and toilet areas are separated, with good counter space around the sink. The room was very clean and spacious, with a large hallway, storage hooks, racks, etc. Breakfast options were pleasant and you can eat outside on the terrace. 5 min. walk to Nestroyplatz U-Bahn (2-3 stops to most Inner Ring sights, easy transfer to get to the Schonbrunn) restaurants, Spar market, Prater Park, etc. Their front desk/housekeeping staff are all helpful and respectful: I was able to use a 2020 hotel credit and corresponded with them for several years before we actually travelled. They assured us PCR testing was no longer required to get into the State Opera concert (opera house website wasn’t updated), saving us time/money. Check out the huge chess set on the 1st floor roof terrace (whimsical.) The Gasthaus Hansy restaurant nearby has outdoor seating (lots of locals) and awesome wait staff. The Riesenrad (ferris wheel) a short walk away was a fun way to get aerial city views. They have a laundry service which gets sent out during the day but it was expensive, so we only used it for essentials. We loved staying here and would definitely return again.

Great stay at the Classic.
Very well run and maintained hotel, with friendly helpful staff.
Rooms are comfortable and everything works, they are spotlessly maintained and are very quiet on the courtyard side.
Excellent breakfast choices available each day.
Easy access from the airport and city centre.
Would happily recommend this hotel without hesitation and will use again when next in Vienna.

We spent 3 nights here last week and had another wonderful experience. Everything was perfect from check in to check out and everything in between. We were upgraded on arrival which was totally appreciated - thank you! Proof of being COVID free was also required. We had or EU Digital Green Certificates on our phone. This proved to be necessary as every aspect of our stay in the city - entrance into various places etc as this was asked for and checked.
Our room was spacious and newly renovated. The bathroom was luxurious and the bedroom was equally well equipped. The breakfast service had a one way system in place which was very orderly and led to free movement for everyone to help themselves safely. Everything that we enjoy for breakfast was there and in plentiful supply.
We enjoyed a drink from the bar on our last evening. This request was dealt in a jovial and efficiently manner by one of the receptionists. We didn't loiter but rather took our drinks to our room.
Well done to the staff and management for making the hotel a safe space for everyone to enjoy. By being there and enjoying our stay we felt very safe knowing that everyone staying there was already checked and COVID free. This gave huge peace of mind in these unusual times we find ourselves in.

I usually stay in large five star chain hotels but wanted to save a bit of money for this trip and chose a mid range hotel just outside the centre of Vienna. I knew I wanted to stay near the Prater as I love the fair and the park itself. This hotel is so nicely located right between two U bahn stations and a couple of stops to most of the attractions of the city. Originally this was going to be a solo trip to visit some of the places my husband and I loved before he died but in the end I had three work friends who had never been to Vienna who wanted to come. Encouraged them to try this hotel and they loved it too. Lovely rooms( mine had a deep bath, great to soak in after a long day sightseeing. My friend had a single which she was very happy with( cosy without being cramped) and the other two had a twin room. The room size is perfect for short breaks. Complimentary tea and coffee was provided in all the rooms. When we checked in late in the evening my friends room was meant to have a bath but had a shower this was quickly sorted out by reception in the morning. Breakfast was a fairly typical continental offering with plenty of choice and the food was fresh and tasty. Also, a nice long time to have breakfast so you can relax or get out super early. Rooms were cleaned every day. All staff were lovely and friendly without being intrusive or over the top. Perfect for me. If there was one thing I would change is the bed was very hard( but bed softness is a difficult thing to get right for everyone) No restaurant but a cute little cafe bar and so many places locally to eat. Next time I am in Vienna this will be my first choice for a hotel stay. Thank you to all staff for a great short break.

This hotel was immaculate. We were very well looked after and got the best sleep ever because the beds were really comfortable and it was very quiet. The breakfast was delicious with lots of choices and the staff were attentive and always responsive. The location was great and it was close to many attractions and to public transportation. I purposely chose this hotel for its traditional appearance and lots of charm but with all the modern amenities, it looked like it had been recenlty updated. Very happy with my choice!

Stayed for five nights in December in a triple room, which had two separate bedrooms, on the third floor at the back of the hotel overlooking the courtyard. The location of our rooms meant that it was quiet at night. There was a lift. Heating of the rooms was excellent.
The main bedroom was shaped in a small "L" type configuration and had two single beds, which were very comfortable, pushed together. There was a bedside table with reading lamps on either side of the bed and at the end of the "L" there was an alcove that had a desk with a chair, desk lamp, tea and coffee making facilities and a wall mounted flat screen TV. There was also a single arm chair. There was a large wardrobe along the wall next to one side of the bed opposite the window that had plenty of drawer and hanging space and also contained a safe.
The second bedroom had a single bed, a chest of drawers, with a reading lamp, a separate desk with two chairs, a desk lamp and a wall mounted flat screen TV.
The bathroom was a reasonable size and had a walk-in shower with both rain water and hand held nozzles. Water pressure was good. The vanity was also a reasonable size but struggled to hold three sets of toiletries.
The toilet was separate to the bathroom. There was also plenty of storage space in the wardrobe that was located in the corridor between the two bedrooms.
The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and the included WIFI worked well.
The breakfast was a hot and cold buffet consisting of, amongst a range of dishes, cereals, yoghurt, cold meats, cheeses and vegetables, cakes, breads and pastries together with jams and spreads, fruit salad and fruit, hard boiled eggs, juice, milk, tea and coffee. The hot component generally had eggs of some description (e.g. scrambled, omelette), plus different types of sausages.
The hotel also had a small but very comfortable bar area which we frequented on most nights after long days of walking through the various Christmas markets.
Staff overall were excellent. Very attentive and helpful.
Location is reasonably good as whilst being outside the city centre it is between two Underground railway stations being Nestroyplatz (500 metres away) and Praterstern (200 metres away). From Nestroyplatz it was only two stops on the underground to Stephensplatz.

Very well located, underground station a few minutes away, or walkable to Stefansplatz. Excellent Itlalian restaurant across the road and other restaurants nearby on Praterstr. Clean, welcoming hotel, unfussy but staff very kind and helpful. Fridge in room, tea and coffee-making equipment, comfortable beds - everything you could want. My room faced on to the street and was rather dark due to large trees lining the pavement, but the trees helped screen off the street lighting and also muffled street noise so not at all bad. First class breakast, coffee from a machine alas, which is now the norm in many hotels, but it was of drinkable quality. No toast making facilities, which I missed, although I am sure if i had asked I would have been brought some. But it would be good to have a toaster in the breakfast room. Excellent scrambled egs (two types), bacon and toast. Home made yoghurt, which was delicious. Thoroughly recommended and when I come to Vienna again this is where I will stay.
