Lovely little hotel. Spacious rooms, quaint and very European. Perfect location for walking Vienna. Staff curtious and European breakfast served every morning in quaint dinning area which allowed you to meet other travellers and share experiences. Would recommend highly for the experience of staying in an old building with character.

We had a great stay here, and have already booked another stay for next year. The location on the Graben is convenient for wandering and shopping, and good access to the trains and other local transportation. The included breakfast is good and the staff is friendly and helpful if asked for advice on activities and sights. Our room was spacious... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pension Nossek for four nights. It is a little quirky to get into it as the reception area is on the 2nd floor of the building (Take the elevator). The hosts and staff were all terrific- nice, informative and helpful. Our room overlooked the main pedestrian street. Although it did, we really got... More

This is the perfect location for touring and for shopping. The rooms are high ceilinged and spacious. Important to us was air conditioning and wifi. Both are excellent. Dining was also easy with many restaurants in the area within walking distance . Also within walking distance are St Stephan's(the heart of Vienna), the Statsopera, the Museum Quarter, the Imperial Burial... More

You'll feel like you are truly in Vienna. This hotel is in the upper floors of an old building (Mozart lived here briefly) on Graben St., which is a pedestrian zone. Our room looked over the street for great people watching. The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable: good shower, air conditioning, roomy and quiet. Staff were very friendly... More

What a location, within 5 min of Hopsburg Palace, St. Stephen's Church and possibly the best shopping in Vienna. Great location. Old hotel with quaint mid 1960's charm. Great location. You wont go wrong with this place!

In the centre of Vienna and you are not paying big bucks! My first visit to Vienna was in 2014 and I fell in love with the city and the hotel. I have stayed in this hotel 3 times and my partner has been coming for 25 years every summer and has stayed in this hotel on every visit!! The... More

We took the U1 underground from the train station to Stephenplatz (cathedral) station and found ourselves in the heart of the central city. We walked a few blocks to the address and were directed to an upper floor reception via an art deco elevator. We were delighted to find an old world hotel. Our room was spacious, air conditioned, lovely... More

I can't imagine a better location for a tourist in Vienna. On the Graben just off Stephansplatz - so many sites within a ten-minute walk, and public transportation to basically anywhere was available from Stephansplatz. My single room was ... I think the word is "modest." It had everything I needed and was furnished appropriately for a building of its... More

If you want to be on the Graben, this is a great location. Also close to Herrngasse station on orange line. Friendly staff. Rooms have 19th century feel. Very quiet since no traffic on the Graben. Great air-conditioning. If you want to avoid tourist traffic and restaurants, stay somewhere else. Also you have to take your room key with you... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
