although the location is good the hotel itself is in a poor state. the bathroom was dirty and smelly, the radiators didnt work and the breakfastroom was in a cellar and too small to have guests having breakfast we had to wait for a table in order to have breakfast. i brought my own bread which i wanted to toast... We rented a 2-bedroom apartment for a couple of nights. The kitchen was dingy, the bed slanted toward the headboard (so it was very uncomfortable to sleep) and the shower leaked so we were soaking up water after every shower. The breakfast buffet was nothing special and the staff were not even remotely friendly. I wouldn't stay there again. I... More

We booked an 'apartment-room' for an overnight stay in the city. For £99 it was value for money, however once checked into the main reception you then have to walk back onto the street and walk down another street to access the room. The room itself was clean and tidy and had a lovely rooftop balcony, which we hadnt expected... More

I stayed for 3 nights in the apartments, around the corner from the main hotel. Check-in & check-out was friendly & efficient. I had a top floor apartment which featured it's own little roof terrace - great for catching the afternoon sun after a hard days work, but more could have been made of this feature than a few plastic... We stayed in the part of the hotel where the apartments were, not the hotel itself although the two buildings are attached. The apartments were: clean, beautifully kept and huge. Definitely getting a great value for the money that you are spending. The staff were alright, not over friendly but they got the job done. The location of the apartment... More

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights last March 2011. The hotel is quite old, the furnishing and everything else looks old. It is clean hotel though and it has nice staffs. One thing that I didn't really like is the location. The location is quite far from the metro. Even though you can reach the Karlsplatz station by 10... More

I had stayed at this hotel several years agoand having good memories booked again - either the hotel had gone downhill or my memory was tainted with rose tinted spectacles! We had booked a twin room and I must say I have never seen a smaller room - one of the photos from another reviewer I believe is the room... More

Day 4 on our road trip. What you will find with Vienna is that it is very busy with narrow streets, parking is a nightmare but it is a very busy city. We found the hotel quite easily due to the tom tom! we managed to be really lucky & got a space outside the door as some one had... More

I stayed here for three nights while in Vienna on business. I paid 10 Euros extra to have a room with a bath, it was a cold month and i thought i wouldnt be doing much so a nice soak in the bath would pass some time. They gave me my room keys for a room on the 4th floor,... More

Very convenient location - just outside the Inner City, near Opera, Muzeums, market. Rooms (apartments) are clean, breakfast satisfactory, beds in apartments without headboard (very useful for taller people...), free internet. Parking is quite expensive (18,- EUR / day in garage). It is possible to park in surrounding streets (if you find a free place), it is free on weekends,... More

Staying in Wieden

Neighborhood Profile
Wieden
The fourth district combines elegant tradition with contemporary style and relaxed living. More than a dozen town palaces and churches such as St. Charles Borromeo have added glamour to a neighborhood known for its traditional retail and crafts shops, taverns, cafés. Wieden is also home to Naschmarkt, Vienna’s largest street market. Many bohemian types have found their way to Wieden: meet them in trendy cafés and bars, shop alongside them for vintage items, enjoy Wien Museum’s and Kunsthalle’s modern temporary exhibitions, and hang out with the bees at Vienna’s most beautiful urban garden, Karlsgarten.
