After paying upfront for four days we arrrived to find the heating in the room ws not working, the water freezing and bath not draining. Apparently the whole floor had no heating, in January. We were given a tiny space heater that barely heated the freezing room. We decided to leave, unhappy with the customer service and the room being...

It's not a neighborhood that you feel confortable in walking by during the night. It's not dangerous but that are some weired people around. The hotel is really close from the subway station. The room is not big, the shower you can hardely move when inside, the tv didn't work and the air conditioner of the building wasn't working. They...

This place is horrible. It's almost impossible to get a decent wifi in the rooms, the stuff is not friendly at all, very rude and rooms are insanely cold, wich is unacceptable during winter. Please, if you have the chance to stay in another place, do it. I won't come back EVER. I haven't tried the breakfast, but according to...

Hot water was turned off for a day with no notice, Wi-Fi signal was terrible, rooms were cold with no extra blankets or way to turn heating up. Was very dissapointing to say the least. Would not recommend staying here.

A bit Faulty Towers but we were caught out and this place was available. We stayed three nights and the beds were not made once or the towels changed. The floor was grotty. The lift wasn't working - not sure it does at all. The receptionist was very helpful. Great location though!

Nothing was done we had to sleep in dirty unmade beds. Really nobody cares. I tried to complain when we got back but no answers to me emails or numerous calls. two...

We stayed for 2 nights in september. The receptionist didn't seem to like his job that much, and acted like he wanted to be anywhere else but there. The room was on the first floor and when we got there the room was freezing. We went right to the reception and asked them to turn up the heat, but he...

Stayed for 2 nights and feel okay about it! It is well located, 5 mins from metro station. Staffs are friendly and willing to help when requested :). The hotel itself has some history so it is quite old on design and tangibles. The room is not air-conditioned so it will be quite hot in summer. Despite that the room...

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.

“It is near the train station, hence traveling is helpful. If one is taking a short trip to Vienna one should take 8 days train pass for Vienna. This entitles one to unlimited travel within Vienna but of course, one has to take a single one stop train ticket if coming from the airport as the airport is outside the limits of free travel on the 8 days train pass. S-7 is a direct train to Pratestron, the nearest underground train station to Hotel Cristall (5 minutes walk). The hotel has enough parking area for cars and has a rear lawn where one may sit, smoke, and enjoy the weather. Room on the rear side are quiter.”
