During my 3 day stay there in June, 2013, I enjoyed very much their friendly service, rich variety of their breakfast buffee, my comfortable bed and free internet in my room. The location is superb – walking distance from the old town of Vienna, and very interesting Sigmund Freud Appartment Museum around the corner.

More like a 3 rather than a 4 star hotel, as it needs renovation. Ok overall, room is generally spacious and clean and breakfast is good. Main reason I chose it was because of the free fast internet in all rooms. Hotel is near the university in a quiet and safe area. There are not however many facilities in the... More

walls here are paper thin. I was kept up all night be the residents in the next room and the front desk staff were not sympathetic and unable/unwilling to move me to another room. Beds are uncomfortable and the deco very outdated. Much too expensive for what it is.

Been coming here for a few years. Stayed one night recently in a refurbed twin room (109) paying €90 r/o, room had lovely modern massive square shower but very little water pressure and luke warm water, sadly. Didn't have breakfast as I was leaving too early for a flight and it wasn't possible to do anything before 7am. I was... More

1. This is a hotel doesn't think about it's customers. 2. Rooms are cramped. 3. Uncomfortable beds (mattresses with noticeable springs) and dingy, dirty carpets and bedding. 4. The shower is minuscule. 5. Unfriendly staff. 6. Extremely LOUD housekeeping at 8 AM. Trying to rest? Forget it. Stayed one night. Would never have a reason to go back. There is... More

The rooms in the hotel were clean and basic with wireless access. If going to a conference or a meeting at the University, it would be okay as it is reasonably priced and within walking distance to the university and to restaurants. But, the hotel is not in the city center so if you want to be in the heart... More

I stayed here for a work trip in early Feb. I'd originally booked into Hotel Pension Bleckmann which is their sister hotel and on arrival there got told I had been transferred to Hotel Boltzmann. It's about a twenty minute walk to central Vienna. The room was clean and comfortable, and the free wifi was very useful as I needed... More

Very standard hotel that offers nothing special. Too expensive. Worked fine for me as the location was very close to the Uni I visited. Would not recommend for tourists but worked just fine for a shorter business trip.

Average to a fault. That’s about all I can say regarding the Boltzmann. It was in a nestled-away area, so it was quiet, but also took some trekking to reach and leave. It was part of a packaged tour, so I don’t know what the operator paid, but I wouldn’t be prepared to stay again without some massive discount. The... More

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighborhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighborhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
