This hotel is located in a quieter part of Vienna and set a bit far out from the main part of town, which is exactly why I booked it. We arrived a bit early for check in, which was fine as we just wanted to leave our suitcases and go out and explore. The woman at the front desk was... More

After traveling almost 30 hours from SE Asia arrived at just after 8am, Hotel fully booked so no room available until the afternoon, whilst I was desperate for a shower and a few hours sleep I spent 5 fantastic hours walking around the City, enjoying the great weather the food and the buzz of the City. Just dont come here, the hotel is under construction. Book another place and relax. When the hotel is finish will be a place to stay but dont do it now. Room with space and to park you go 100 mts to another hotel called Ibis. Not close main atracctions but easy to move there by metro o public transport.

We stayed here in mid-July, just after they opened. The double room was impressed: very spacious, well designed, and comfortable. In addition, the hotel is very well situated, just outside of the centre, only steps away from the Westbahnhof, and some cool neighbourhoods like the Neubau. All that being said, the hotel is "weird." The air conditioning in the room... More

Rooms clean and functional. Breakfast appalling. Coffee machines not working, long queues in a room far too small for number of guests. No still mineral water in the hotel despite being a condition of booking that it would be provided. No glass of champagne on arrival either. Much of the hotel still a building site. Best avoided until works completed... More

Stayed a night here and expected a lot more for such a new hotel. Check in wasn't possible until 3pm not the biggest deal, we had to park in the ibis hotel carpark further up the road which if you're a ibis customer it's cheaper even though it's more of an inconvenience to cart your luggage back to the hotel.... Hotel opened June 2016 after thorough upgrading. Great, quiet location, yet within a walking distance to great shopping and public transportation. Nice, good size, well decorated rooms. Responsive and helpful front desk staff, who did their utmost to make our stay pleasant.

I am often staying in this hotel, although it has changed name several times. Most important for me is location, close to city center and main shopping street, good connection with railway station. The staff are friendly and provide the information for us to travel around Vienna. Easy to walk to train station around 10-15 minutes from the hotel. There are few restaurants operated at night time around the hotel. The car need to park at ibis hotel nearby and the fee is 15euro per night.

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
