Stayed a night here and expected a lot more for such a new hotel. Check in wasn't possible until 3pm not the biggest deal, we had to park in the ibis hotel carpark further up the road which if you're a ibis customer it's cheaper even though it's more of an inconvenience to cart your luggage back to the hotel.... Hotel opened June 2016 after thorough upgrading. Great, quiet location, yet within a walking distance to great shopping and public transportation. Nice, good size, well decorated rooms. Responsive and helpful front desk staff, who did their utmost to make our stay pleasant.

I am often staying in this hotel, although it has changed name several times. Most important for me is location, close to city center and main shopping street, good connection with railway station. Rooms are big, comfortable and clean, also bathrooms were big and very comfortable in all rooms I was staying. Staff can be sometimes not so helpful and... More

The staff are friendly and provide the information for us to travel around Vienna. Easy to walk to train station around 10-15 minutes from the hotel. There are few restaurants operated at night time around the hotel. The car need to park at ibis hotel nearby and the fee is 15euro per night.

I was there for a few days as a Le Club Accor Platinum member and was planning to pay with points. The reception personnel did not want to accept this type of payment as was planning to charge me 320 euros, even though i had been staying in hotels part of this chain for years and had more than enough... Hotel is under refurbishment. The lobby was getting work while we were there, as were some of the floors. You can hear the construction noise starting about 8am. This is as of June 25, 2016. The good stuff...The rooms that are renovated are really nice. Very modern, very well designed, with air conditioning that actually works very nicely on 95... More

This hotel has just been refurbished but there are still work men drilling and banging in the day time. There was no wifi and no English television, only Austrian channels. Good location, close to subway station and shops. Bedrooms were very nice.

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
