I stayed here over night and i am not sure about the place actually to be honest. What i like was that the price (52 EUR in November) which is not bad, but the hotel room on itself seemed quite dated and actually felt like it was still coming from the 70s. The reception area definitily needs a more welcoming atmosphere, trough the breakfast was not included because of the COVID restrictions. The location, not quite sure, not far from westbahnhof but still 2 changes to the centre, felt still a bit far away with an highway. not sure if i would stay here again
Mercure Hotel Raphael is conveniently located, and it is easily reachable by public transportation (U6 station Gumpendorfer Strasse, or U3-U6 station Westbahnhof, where also the bus from Vienna airport stops). I had a very good room on the 6th floor, well furnished and with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was good, too. Cleanliness was very good, air conditioning worked perfectly and was not noisy. Insulation from outside noise was not perfect, but the side street where the hotel is located was very quiet, so there were no problems getting a good sleep. Staff was very, very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was very good, with many choices available.
The interior decoration of the hotel is very nice, in accordance with the photos. Our room was of good size, very clean, white and beautiful. Pillows a little soft but that's a detail. The staff at the reception was very friendly and smiling. The only downside was that it was not very central but well connected by metro. We had a very good time in this hotel and we will probably come back.
This hotel was OK. Room was somewhat good, although I didn't like the half-carpet half-wooden floor. Should be carpet everywhere. Not a big deal. Bathroom was a bit outdated, with a bathtub instead of shower cabin. Breakfast was good. Location is OK, walking distance to one of the main shopping areas in Vienna, but far from the historical center. Still, only a few stops away with the U-bahn. Parking is very tight, so if you're driving bigger than hatchback, better stop at the next parking that's a couple of minutes walk away. They will even advise you to do so, which is great. It was very expensive because of something happening in Vienna at that point. But if you have the regular price, it's a good value. Service in general was excellent and I have no complaints here. They even fulfilled a special request that we had, that honestly was not fair from our side to ask for.…
Wonderful hotel, wonderful service, wonderful breakfast. I can't fault this hotel - it has been my hotel of choice in Vienna in the last few months. My first stay was due my All membership although it's not very close to the office but it's really good so have no intention to change it. The rooms obviously differ but the suites even have terrace access. Spacious, clean rooms and really nice bedding. The breakfast has lots of options as well. Also, compared to other hotels, if you are an All member, it actually counts!
