Looking for a hotel. Seems like I found one, decided to call directly and ask questions about booking. Girl on a reception sounded as a very stupid, for 10 minutes couldn't help at all. The only answers I could get from her as "I don't know". Now having doubts about this hotel because even on a booking stage you faced...

The hotel is just opposite the metro station which makes travelling to all the attractions very convenient. Hotels in Austria generally donot have AC's but I think they should have it in Vienna. Unlike Innsbruck, Vienna is much warmer. The room we had got was of a very good size. The breakfast is decent as well.

I hotel which I found on TripAdvisor covered all needs for a five day stay. Tidy rooms, WiFi, a very tasty breakfast. An one of the most important things for a city trip. A central location, I think it took me 7 minutes to the city center of Vienna. As an tourist it was also a major plus, that next...

This is not an ideal place to stay at all. The only good thing was the location as it was directly across from a train station that connected by one stop to the central station. The first room we were sent to was boiling hot and the airconditioning was broken. I told the staff and they gave me a new...

Dear guest, many thanks for your critical feedback here on Tripadvisor. Please be aware that all our rooms have noise prevention windows BUT the hotel is located on one of Viennas most important transport hub. Stayed at allegro for 3 nights. Natalia the receptionist was absolutely wonderful, warm and almost like a family friend. Helped us answer all our questions tirelessly. Excellent breakfast quality, only wish there was some variety. Located perfectly close to the tram station at matzleindorfer plata which is linked to all key places in Vienna center. All in all we had...

We stayed for 3 nights. The hotel rooms are large and spacious. Quite clean rooms and linen and with the classic feel of the older non-chain hotels. The receptionists are good and quite helpful. Breakfast is a large spread but limited in the changes. The croissants were the best I've had in a long time. No sliced bread and no...

The hotel is quite basic and straightforward, and for the low price I paid that's exactly what I expected so it met my expectations. The room was adequately furnished, the bathroom was fine and the staff were polite. The location is excellent too as it's a 1 minute walk from the train/tube station. If you need a no-frills hotel to...

Staying in Margareten

Neighborhood Profile
Margareten
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
