Been travelling many years, this is the most central location ever had... transport next door (subway/buses) to city or anywhere in Vienna... And also impressed with staff concerns with guests ... we had a day tour to Budapest from Vienna, kitchen staff very kind enough to pack breakfast to go with us as we had to travel very early... amazing...

I was a little bit affraid because of some reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. Position of the hotel is good for travellers by train, it is located only 1 station by S-bahn and 3 stations by tram from Haupbahnhof. We had a triple room and it was very spacious, comfy and clean. Wifi was working, buffet breakfast with wide...

Rooms were very clean and spacious with very comfortable beds. Our deal included dinner which was good, tasty simple food. Excellent selection at breakfast and constantly refilled. Another point was that the tables were cleared as soon as vacated - good service. The location is not bad at all, access to the centre of Vienna is easy and quick (and...

It looks a little untidy and shabby. Window is dirty - it's no surprise since it looks at a busy and noisy road. Furniture is also pretty old. Breakfast isn't bad, pretty close to the standard "continental" menu. I was impressed by service - it took less than 5 minutes to replace the broken shower head (immediately after I complained...

Hotel was very tired and needs updating. However bedroom was large and cleaned every day. Good breakfast choices from muesli, yoghurt, to salads, scrambled eggs, cake and some fruit. Quite a distance from central Vienna so although VERY noisy at a busy road / rail / tram intersection, there was a choice of transport into the city. The bar &...

This was a well placed hotel for local transport and local eateries. The hotel was very tired and really does require updating but in saying that the rooms were cleaned every day and bedding and towels were also changed so this made up for the dated room. The bed was comfortable and a good nights sleep was possible even though...

Stayed 2 nights, the room is huge and the hotel is located near the tram and the metro station. Just only 2 minutes by walk. The only thing that we are disappointed is we couldn't use the lift because it was so smelly. It might have been under repair. However, this hotel is still nice in my eye sight.

Dear guest! Thank you very much for this positive feedback! We are very pleased that you have enjoyed your stay in Vienna and especially in our hotel! We hope to see you again soon! With best regards, your Allegro-Team!

Firstly it has to been stated that the hotel is not prepared for tourists with their own cars. There is no place to leave you car and the parking regulations in Vienna are very restricted so it is better to leave the car on some park&ride stop and then use public transport. We have paid 2 euros more per night...

Stayed for 2 nights as part of Groupon deal. Not located in a very salubrious area with heavy traffic for 20 of 24 hours so be prepared for Hum of traffic. Room was large and clean. Service was very casual and not great. Very average breakfast in miserable surroundings. Travel to central Vienna is fairly easy if you familiarise yourself...

It's an old , fading , uncomfortable hotel. Contrasting totally with Vienna's grandeur and magic. Perhaps it made us understand we didn't belong to that grandeur. Ha ha . The room was big but lacking taste. Breakfast wasn't at all marvelous in a rather small place. The best thing was the excellent disposition of maids there. Wouldn't go back even...

Staying in Margareten

Neighborhood Profile
Margareten
This former working class district blends hip eateries and avant-garde cinema with a time travel into 1950s Vienna. Feel the district’s pulse at Margaretenhof and Schlossquadrat. 19th-century Margaretenhof is a local icon, yet has very non-Viennese architecture with its brick structure and cast-iron verandas. The nearby urban Renaissance castle of Schlossquadrat houses several restaurants. In the summer you can sit in its romantic shady courtyard over Schnitzel and Kracherl (traditional fizzy syrup). Siebenbrunnenplatz and its surrounding shops and grocery stores have remained virtually unchanged in the past 60 years: taking a walk there is like stepping into a 1950s film set. Speaking of movies, head to avant-garde cinema Filmcasino in the evening. It often stages foreign language cult films.
