Staff were very good and very helpful assisting us with the parking. The hotel was clean and the room comfortable if a little dated. The hotel is very central. There were few facilities other than bed and breakfast.
Rooms are a bit dated although clean. Small but clean bathroom. Shower in bathtub, the water was tricky to get to hold a level temperature. Nice, friendly, helpful and humorous personnel. Great location and really fabulous breakfast. Would stay again.
Das Opernring Hotel is fabulously situated for Vienna’s museum district, with many of the city’s main cultural attractions within five minutes walk. In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The
Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

See the responses posted by Katie and SuePhilly: train and underground combination works well, is as fast as or faster than other methods and much less expensive. There is also an airport bus service that takes you to Schwedenplatz: like a taxi it depends on traffic conditions how fast that'll be; also from Schwedenplatz, you again depend on other means of transport to get to the opera area. -- The hotel does not have its own shuttle service.
