Stayed here for two nights in early December 2016. Nice, clean hotel with friendly staff and a very extensive breakfast choice. Rooms are clean and the hotel is handy for the Metro. There are a few local shops and bars but only looked around in the evening as we were out most of the day. The local area is OK and...

The hotel was very comfortable, the room was an adequate size and very clean. Found the staff very friendly and accommodating when we needed any advice. About a 10 minute tram ride to the centre of Vienna, tram stop is just across the road. Taxi fare was expensive 47 euro found it very easy to get to the airport by...

We stayed at this hotel as part of a tour but if it were up to me, I wouldn't stay here. The hotel is far away from downtown Vienna, however; public transportation (tram and Metro stops) are a short 3 to 5 minute walk from the hotel. Using the tram or metro it is very easy to get around Vienna....

We got pretty good price for this hotel and it was nice stay. Front desk people are nice especially Aladdin!!!! They have little issue with parking (not enough parking for all the guest) Cleaning ladies don't speak English at all. BREAKFAST is excellent a lot to choose from.

Just take tram no. 43 and in about 10 minutes you are in Vienna old town (next to Votivkirche). The hotel is a good choice for those you want to feel quite comfortable but do not want to overpay. Modern but not too arge rooms, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms. TV with only German- and Spanish-language channels. First night I could...

We stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights. The lady at the counter helped us with a map and a great smile to find what we needed in the city.. the hotel is not in a great zone but the tram to the city centre stops directly in front of it. The place was clean, the breakfast good...

I'd strongly recommend avoiding this hotel given that there is so much choice in Vienna. Firstly I have to say that the staff were polite and helpful when it came to local information however, the room itself was a disappointment. Our room was on the seventh floor. The bathroom proved to be completely impractical as you have to stand in...

Room: don't trust the internet photo. The room is small and dated. No kettle and compliment drinks. Some furniture such as window and closet need to be fixed. But it's clean. Bathroom: compact with bathtub that cannot be used as bathtub. But the shower is good any you spend most of the time outside hotel, who needs bathtub then? Remember...

Me and my fellow traveller stayed here as a result of a British Airways (stand by for a review of them too!) holiday deal, and this hotel was chosen on the basis of the photos, location and price. All comments on the room relate to room 118. So let's start with checking in: Check in was nice and smooth, a...

Staying in Ottakring

Neighborhood Profile
Ottakring
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).
