Convenient location and very helpful staff. Unfortunately the pool was under construction and we were not informed of that, which was a shame since my friend and I chose the hotel because of the pool. The staff offered us a bottle of wine as a compensation. All in all a good experience.

The hotel was convinient to center. You can take tram 44 to shotentor the stop is just in front of the hotel door . The door is clean and the breakfast was awsome. The kitchen and waiter staff were quite nice but the blonde guy in the reception must be more polite.

The hotel is close to AKH hospital(5 minutes by taxi), it is clean, the bathroom is nice and clean. The breakfast is good. You get to center of town from the hotel by just taking tram 44 with 2,30 euro and the trip is ~10 minutes, so you may consider it also close to the center. I stayed here> 10... More

It was a new experience for me while I traveled a lot around the world. My good impression was on staff, who was very friendly and helpful. A compensation for other not good thing. In my opinion is not a 4 stars hotel. The room was very small and price for it too big. The net was good. The bathroom... More

To complete a good stay in a city like Vienna, you have to find a good hotel. The Hotel Exe Vienna, is not a luxury hotel, but gives you the comfort and attention that the traveler needs. Most importantly, the staff is friendly, affectionate and extremely helpful. It seems they knew you for a lifetime. So is the dining room,... More

The staff is rude here. I had an email confirmation that I could have early check in due to an early flight and when I got there, the hotel staff told me I can't check in early because they didn't have any rooms ready even though I witnessed several people checking out. The wait staff told me I had to... More

The rooms are clean and spacious with new furniture and flat TV. At the time we stayed at this hotel the wind blew very hard outside and sometimes we were hearing whistles along the windows. The food is good and varied. The staff is friendly but not so helpful. The first day we found a parking place in the hotel... More

Staying in Ottakring

Neighborhood Profile
Ottakring
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).
