Having booked this as part of a city break deal I knew it wasn't going to be luxury but was very disappointed with the standard of the hotel. We had requested a double room, as was an option on the booking site. The room we had was a twin with 2 singles and 2 single duvets. When I asked for...

Me and my partner stayed here for a mid-week getaway. The hotel is located in a great location, central to most of the attractions and great transport links, with bus, tram and u-bahn in close proximity. The staff we encountered were all lovely and helpful. Our room was bigger than we expected and it had a lovely bathroom with bath,...

We stayed here four nights. Large bedroom and bathroom in the main building and a lovely warm room (it was -5 at night ). We had booked room only as we felt that 18€ was too expensive for a breakfast. However they now have a light breakfast or continental breakfast delivered to the room each morning if you order by...

For a stay when you dont have to spend much time in the room (mostly spend time roaming around), it is a good property, at a reasonable cost and at an easily walkable distance from nearest Tram & bus stations. We stayed for just 1 night, so did not get a chance to avail much services of this hotel. But...

Was there for a night, the room was very nice, it was a duplex sort of room with a balcony if you want to go out, the location is great just minutes away from the s bahn station, the distance to city centre can even be walked down, didn't have breakfast hence can't comment on the food but used a...

We booked last minute and the price was very reasonable. Very well placed for access into most parts of Vienna by metro and tram. The room was quiet and clean, the bed comfortable. The breakfast was more than adequate. Would stay here again.

We have just returned back from a three night break in Vienna and considering we went over for a football match, we found the hotel was reasonably well located and spotlessly clean. We stayed in Room 410 and there was three of us sharing a room. There is an underground metro station just around the corner which can get you...

We visited Vienna for the Austria v Ireland game and found that Hotel Nestroy was a good quality hotel that perfectly suited our purposes. Upon arrival in Vienna we purchased a 72 hour ticket at the airport tourist desk for €24.90 that covers all metro, buses and trams in the city making transport hassle free (plus €1.70 supplement, airport is...

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
