Quote: Situated in the ring, the metro Schottenring, next to City Hall, the University, walking distance to St. Stephen's Cathedral minutes 10-12. Hotel name is not accidental - the history of Vienna says that after the war, the Austrian capital was divided into four occupation zones among the Allies, and the headquarters were located in the best Viennese hotel: Americans...

It was walking distance away from the Palace and the Parliament house. The room given to us was a fairly large one, though it was inner facing.... The Hotel is recommended for its amazing connectivity to everything in Vienna. It is adjoining the underground station and tram station. While we were there, the film festival was being held in an...

We were staying there for three nights before i had to go to a conference in Vienna, and we picked this hotel due to the location and other reviews from tripadvisor. It was close to both the subway and tram-system, located in a calm part of Vienna with very little traffic around the hotel. Clean rooms with a split bathroom...

I was so glad that I couldn't get into my conference hotel, as I found that the Hotel de France offered much more. For one thing, the room had air conditioning, which was essential in June. The room was very quiet, helped by having an internal door into my own lobby, so there were no sounds from the corridor. The...

Stayed 4 nights at corporate rate which made it great value. Largest room ever, now all non smoking. Meek air conditioning, ask for a high and quiet room in summer. Fantastic breakfast. Limited free WiFi or internet, unlimited WiFi only off lobby. Good service and staff. Popular with coach parties, but well managed. Thoroughly recommended.

I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Many tourist destinations are within walking distance, and the hotel itself is quite nice. The rooms were large, but the furniture looked rather old. There were staff members constantly vacuuming the carpets outside, but they were rather weathered. It was quite surprising, though, that they gave all the contents of the room's minibar...

The Hotel is located right on the "Ring" - very good location. Room was large, clean, and quite. Complimentary beverage bar in room with water, sodas, and beer! Front desk staff very helpful. Take you own computer since they have Free WiFi. If you do not take your computer, YOU HAVE TO PAY WAY TO MUCH TO USE THE ONE...

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighborhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighborhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
