Great location on the Ring. Feet away from the tram and streetcar station. Central to walking to the center of the Vienna. Rooms are big, clean, well air conditioned, free WI-FI, great breakfast, super bar, nice staff. Would suggest this for all first time visitors to Vienna.

Well situated and pleasant hotel. Nice spacious rooms and approachable staff. Downside is that despite asking three times over a two day stay to look at the internet in my room on the 6th floor it was not sorted. I think this is a ongoing problem and they would be better being upfront with visitors .

Staff was very friendly and helpful especially when asking where nearby restaurants were. The room was spacious and very clean although it had a very old tv in the room but this wasnt a problem as we never watched it anyway as there were too many things to do. There were soaps, shampoo etc in the bathroom and the towels... More

During our stay at the hotel, the internet stopped working. Immediately after our complaint, the hotel offered without adding a suite in another wing, with internet. The staff was very competent and kind with us.

We stayed two nights at Hotel de France and found it quite enjoying. Centrally located and very convenient - close to underground train. Hence connectivity with various destinations is not an issue. Large and spacious well appointed rooms. Staff courteous and helpful. Would love to visit again.

We have just stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. We got a good deal and enjoyed our stay. It is 20 mins walk to the opera area but a beautiful walk. Our room was a little tired furniture wise but we opted for the cheapest room. If you want luxury then you pay for the upgraded rooms

-Vienna view from the room window? Sure, Great view, if you are as tall as an Avatar(don't forget to bring your ladder with you) -Wifi in your room? Definitely great if you are a lucky person, else forget about it and go to the lobby - pillows? Great goose down, one feather per square kilometer, but hey you can bring... More

We stayed three nights and although the hotel is okay there we had a few issues. When we arrived we were asked to pay for our room, we had paid for this in advance through booking.com but despite providing proof of this we had to battle to get the staff to believe us. We were also asked to pay again... More

The location is for sure good and the room is spacious. But you have to be a very tidy person as there is no any room at all on the top of the tables to leave more stuff. small table, small tv set.I almost put my stuffs on the floor.... and the first hotel I stayed in my life does... More

For our wedding anniversary we booked seven nights in the Hotel de France and we were not disappointed. Having emailed requesting a quiet room because of our anniversary we were delighted to be given a free upgrade immediately on arrival. After about 20 minutes in our room there was a knock at the door and a waiter presented us with... More

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighborhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighborhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
