The title says it all. Nowhere on the website or during all the numerous email communications I had with the hotel was I told that the hotel was undergoing major repair/construction. Not even when I checked in! Imagine my consternation when I was woken up rudely around 8 am with a huge noise right above my head! For a while,... More

Stay at Hotel Das Triest was wonderful. The rooms are spacey and comfortable to stay. The amenities provided in the room and the hotel are adequate. The staff are warm and friendly. Would recommend anyone visiting Vienna to stay at Hotel Das Triest.

Despite ongoing renovation and bad weather, had 3 very nice days in "Das Triest". Special trat was the up-grade to a suite. Staff is extremely polit and helpful. Breakfast is good, particular if the weather is nice and you can sit in the Court yard. Excelletn location.

Firstly, we received an email from the hotel a week before our stay to inform us that they could not accommodate us on our first night due to construction works, which they claimed we had been informed of at that time of booking. This was not the case as there was no mention of construction when we booked on Expedia... More

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but once inside it is very pleasant, with rooms set around the courtyard. Unfortunately there was a major construction going on whilst we were there, which meant it wasn't very pleasant to relax in after a day's sight-seeing. I was travelling with my elderly mother, so we needed to be able to rest.... More

The hotel is nice enough (well, except that there is annoying, noisy construction on one of the wings of it during the day). My bigger issue is it promoted as part of Starwood, and I learned about it and made my reservations via SPG. Unfortunately, SPG and Das Trieste are just loose partners, didn't communicate about my needs, and I... More

I checked in on Monday July 4th late evening and was disappointed by several things: - No SPG number in the system --> did not catch my Platinium level - Reception was barely welcoming, did not try to make any effort - Room 602, although very nice and clean,is too small. When I asked for a better one they could... More

Checkin folks are not very pleasant! Bartender is a very nice fellow. Courtyard is nice Centrally located, rooms are quite large and bathrooms are well appointed. St Stephens cathedral is a short walk. Parking is vey expensive and not available at the property.

The hotel has a very good location - short walking to the center, tram goes at the same street. Quiet place when you have a window to a quite zone as we had. A big surprise was when we were upgraded to the suite which was the biggest space as i can imagine. Very stylish and luxury boutique hotel.

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Small quaint boutique hotel, good location just a 5 minute walk from Vienna’s historical center. Very basic when it comes to amenities. LOCATION: 4/5 Just outside of the attraction-packed historical center, it’s pretty easy to walk from this hotel. There is also a tram stop right in front of the hotel that can brig you to the tram... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Das Triest is a classic design hotel in the heart of Vienna. It is the masterpiece of Sir TerenceConran of hotel design in Austria. Located in the trendy Freihaus Quarter it is only 5 minutes walkingdistance to the state opera and the famous Naschmarkt. St. Stephens cathedral is reachable in a 10 minuteswalk. Some 300 years ago the building was the main station for the horse-drawn postal route fromVienna to Triest. The original stables with their vaulted ceilings were converted to lounges, suitesand conference rooms with distinctive flair. The awarded restaurant Collio spoils its guests with northitalian cuisine. The mediterranean courtyard is one of the busy city´s cherished quiet spots.
