In the center of town right next to the Secession Museum which Klimt helped found and right around the corner from the Getreidemarkt filled with tones of restaurants, food stands, fresh produce, wines and cheeses. Not the standard American tourist traps filled with tchatchkes. Walk to the Opera and more than a few museums. We spent our mornings visiting museums... More

Hotel has great location, staff very friendly. Hotel very clean. Our room must've been the smallest in the hotel-shame to be given that when Accor member! So small couldn't lean over sink without hitting head on bathroom cabinet! Over enthusiastic maids tried to come into room at 8am two mornings in a row! Would stay again but ensure a bigger room... I stay here when I visit trade fair as it is easy to take the U-bhan to the Messe center. The standard is OK. Servuce good and I like the breakfast. Good coffe, scramble egg to perfection and great ham.

I chose this hotel for our family of 2 adults and 4 kids mainly because of its location close to the city centre and naschmarkt and because it offered a family apartment. the location is excellent but the lack of any connection with anyone in the lobby even after staying 6 nights left us feeling a bit sad. the apartment... It is located close to the subway station and it is able to reach most of the popular attractions on foot. Very good breakfast with lots of food and even fruit juice to choose from. Yet, they maintain minimal staff to operate the reception.

This was a nice hotel .... but it has some faults. Location is fantastic - close to Karlsplatz underground (underground plaza is a great method of 'crossing' the busy roads), Naschmarkt for great food and restaraunts and within walking distance of most of the tourist sites. Breakfast was very good - lovely breakfast room, pleasant staff, wide range of choices... More

Great little hotel. Located at Karlsplatz Ubahn take the street exist Secession and it is a charm! Personnel are gracious and helpful, the room is clean and comfortable, you will also find a small minibar, coffee maker and safe. If you need a laptop there is one downstair, a small bar and a little terrasse. Easy walk to the Opera... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
