This is the place. Originally built as a palace, and later converted to a hotel. This place has kept all the grandeur of its original form without compromising on today's luxury.. Staff are more than friendly and helpful. Close to many of the tourist spots, subway and trams, make it an excellent location to stay when visiting Vienna A wonderful... More

We stayed in this outstanding Hotel in the centre of the city during July 2016 for one week. We were staying in a Junior Suite, on bed and breakfast basis and everything about our stay was impressive and luxurious. The room was immaculate, spacious and beutifully decorated with small touches like fresh fruit, cake chocolattes, bathrobes, slippers etc that make... More

We spent a couple of beautiful Christmas's at the Hotel Imperial. Vienna in the winter is beautiful and the Imperial made it even more elegant and special. One year the hotel had a wonderful Christmas program for residents. The rooms we had were over the top elegant. One of the best hotels we've stayed at.

This is a great luxury hotel steps away from all the Old Town attractions. Rooms are palatial, makes you feel like a King or Queen. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, café staff seemed less friendly and overwhelmed. Opus Restaurant was a great, Michelin Star restaurant. Back entrance is right next to Golden Hall where we saw a... More

Sometimes we really hit the jackpot with American Express Platinum card and this hotel was one. With Platinum Amex reservations, you can get upgraded if available, and we were very pleasantly surprised at the Imperial Vienna. We had a two level suite. The comfort level was superior in this room. I had the best sleep in this bed out of... More

Each time I stay at the hotel I like it even better. The staff are friendly and efficient. The room I had this stay is huge, with exquisite furniture, high ceiling, crystal chandelier and an improved television system that is much faster and easier to navigate than the previous (thank you management!). Now if only the channel guide on the... More

I was very happy with our stay. The rooms were very nice and quiet. The staff was extremely helpful. They upgraded us due to my Starwood status. It is very well located in Vienna for the Opera and the old town. It is pricy but so is all of Austria.

It would be hard not to love the Hotel Imperial Vienna which is spellbinding wherever you look - I highly recommend enhancing your stay by booking a little tour with their wonderful concierge who will do a great job showing you this timeless architectural beauty. We stayed in a lovely deluxe room but I would not hesitate to splurge on... More

I have stayed in many lovely, beautiful and great hotels in Vienna. Sacher, Bristol, Ambassador, Marriott, Meridien... Sacher does have a great charm and I must admit their Sacher Torte is better than Imperial's Imperial Torte, but other than that Imperial is just better in every sense. The location is faultless, it might look a bit out of the centre... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
