So I’m in Vienna for two months and will be here all next year. I’m staying initially at the intercontinental and it’s lovely. They’ve been nice to me so far. The room is great. The location too. I asked for a quiet room and got one. First night I went to the bar area to eat. The chicken was great and the Austrian G&T fabulous. Next morning, the breakfast was spectacular, on a three tiered plate set up. Great coffee. All round top service and a classy place.

We arrive by car and had to return it first at the rental company which was located at the Hilton hotel. From the Hilton hotel we walked through Stadtpark and in 10 minutes we had reached our hotel. We were checked-in by a very nice and friendly lady. We received our drinking vouchers and some chocolate hearts due to my Spire Elite membership. And we got a room upgrade to the Junior Suite due to my Ambassador membership. Our room was located on the 11th floor and the club lounge was on the 12th. In the club lounge which was unstaffed, we had our regular coffee for on the go and our late afternoon drinks after discovering Vienna. I have to agree with comments from other reviewers comment that the hotel room did look a bit out-dated. But overall still an awesome room with a beautiful view of Stadtpark. Breakfast was amazing, we got this preset of bread and other delicious things. Beside this, you can also order other dishes which are included. So one day we went for eggs and other days for pancakes, waffles or just a healthy fresh salad. We were a bit surprised and never would do this at home during breakfast, but a nice thing was the sparkling wine the staff offered us. Since we were on a short holiday we couldn't refuse. The location of this hotel is excellent for discovering Vienna. Cross the street and you can hop on the train to go to the zoo, aquarium, fun park or any other place in the city. During the evening Stadtpark had a nice ambience with music, drinks and food. Definitely check that out when you are staying in the InterContinental. Due Covid we tried to stay away from busy areas, so we skipped this place, but without Covid we would gladly have joined the fun. To recap, we really liked our stay and would definitely come back when we are visiting Vienna.

Dear Jordyt117, Thank you very much for having taken the time to write such a great & detailed review. I was very happy to read that, despite the restrictions in place, you had a great time with us. Our huge breakfast buffet is temporarily closed, so we try to make up for it by offering the same items at the Cafe Vienna. Happy you liked it! Hope to welcome you back during better times. Kind Regards, Joao Everard Front Office Manager

I stay 1 week for business at Vienna. As Ambassador Member Platinum , I receive a nice upgrade in a corner suite with a nice view. The district is very quiet , just in front of The Stadpark where you can walk , eat drink in smooth atmosphere. Close to city center I discover ( before I stay at Bristol or Hilton ) and it will be my landmark in Vienna. Nice team and excellent room service.

We have visited this hotel with my wife to spend few days in the beautiful city just without kids. So: the location is perfect. Walking distance to Hofburg and just 2 minutes to subway. You just can hear trains even from twelve floor, but this is toll for the public service. We couldn’t use lounge due to corona virus related restrictions, but breakfast was perfect anyway, just worse view than from the top :-). We spent evenings in the local bar enjoying very good local sparkling vine. There are limited dining options in the hotel, but plenty restaurants around. Room was convenient as well. Staff friendly. So, good hotel. We also have seen families with small children in here.

The intercontinental doesn't look much from the outside, but once you're in the lobby it's quite grandiose. I booked the standard room and upon arrival I was given a double upgrade to a corner suite due to being a Spire Ambassador. A solid start indeed. The room was a good size with an incredible view, although some may find the decor a little dated. The location is a short walk to the centre and it's next to a lovely park. The breakfast was a fantastic spread although it could be a bit pricey if you do that every morning. The gym was impressive with some decent equipment, hotel gyms are usually a bit below standard. I'd definitely go back
