The rooms are very cozy and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast buffet is delicious and filling. The staff was helpful and accommodating when we changed our reservation. The hotel is within walking distance of a main shopping pedestrian street. The only drawback is the price: the hotel is a little overpriced at around $135 a night for a double... More

I would like to thank to staff and owner who made our one night stay in this nice family owned hotel so confortable. Last minute booking directly with reception (better price like on booking.com), clear communication, very nice receptionist at booking and in person. We had a nice room with nice view at pedestrian zone on the 5th floor. Yes,... More

BEWARE of booking any kind of stay in Vienna at Hotel zur Wiener Staatsoper. Despite what is advertised on their website, this is anything but an operation that cares about the satisfaction of its clients. I booked a room on November 2, 2015 for three people for July 20, 2016, but had to cancel the reservation, due to the illness... More

Our arrival was met with a very friendly reception and a glass of sparkling wine. The staff were all immensely helpful and friendly. The room, while not ultra modern, was clean, comfortable and warm with a nice shower room. The location is perfect for visiting all the city's main attractions. The efficient breakfast room offers a wide selection to choose... More

The location of this little inn is close to ideal. Based in old town on a low car traffic street, it is a very short walk to the Hopfburg Apartments, the opera house and the main pedestrian shopping areas. Additionally it's close to a U-bahn and tram station. The owners and their staff are friendly and helpful, giving this a... More

I cancelled my stay one week in advance and they immediately charged my credit card for the whole booking. I am still dealing with them to get my money back. Warning, do not book a room here! When I called to cancel they instructed me to call Expedia since I booked it through them. Expedia told me to call the... More

While the location and price were good, i could not come back here. The beds are very low platforms and it's tough to get up and down if you're at all "creaky." The bathroom was the smallest I've ever seen - it's like being on a boat. The breakfast is very good, and, again, the location could not be better.

We just came back from a fabulous trip celebrating our anniversary. We began at this hotel: Incredible staff, accommodating, the best Great full breakfast, our own coffee pots, great European breakfast Location, Location, Location!!! Clean but beware, the bathroom barely fits one person, no joke..... Hotel rooms need to be updated.

The location of the hotel was ideal. Walking distance to all the sights. Rooms were clean but small, only complaint was the bathroom was very small and tight to move around. Breakfast was included in the price of the room. Staff was very helpful always answered any questions we has.

This hotel was top notch, from the great service at the front desk and the breakfast room through to the comfortable rooms, very good wifi and excellent location. It has a small but usable elevator, so being on the 5th floor was not an issue. My wife and I really enjoyed staying here - which doesn't happen often for us... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
