I stay in many Sofitels around the world but this one is quite unique in terms of accomodation and its minimalist room designs. As you can read from other reviews of this hotel, opinions are divided. So if you are used to staying in W hotels or a Morgan's group hotel then you'll love it here. I happen to find...

Excellent hotel with great service and location. Definitely worth the money. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with great design. The view from the roff top restaurant is just amazing. The staff was very professional and helpful. The only bug I could find was the bed which was a bit too soft for me

This is a "must try" hotel. Rooms are spacious. It has very modern, minimal style design. Maybe a bit boring all the same colour everywhere, but for sure it is unique. However the bar / restaurant on the 18th floor is fantastic. The view is amazing. You must see it both day and nighttime, so do not miss the breakfast,...

I returned to Vienna after some years, a business trip with several days off for good behavior. This lovely, modern hotel is situated very centrally with the most incredible view of beautiful Vienna. I felt very much at home, the room was huge, well appointed with a wonderful bed. There is a soft bar Ino alcohol) and a nespresso machine....

Stayed here for business and took an extra day to see the city. Service was impeccable, the room had a fantastic view of the city. My wife joined me and had a small problem with her throat. Obviously the staff communicates very well with each other. The concierge noticed her discomfort at check in, the next day the Housekeeping staff...

The hotel was amazing and the view of Vienna was stunning. Everything went perfectly. The bar upstairs is awesome (look at the ceiling) at night and the hotel is in the center of everything. The rooms are spacious but might be decorated a bit better but I did not care :)

My husband and I just returned from 4 nights at the Sofitel on our first trip to Vienna. The hotel is across the river/tributary from all the major sites but well within walking distance. The airport bus stop was less than a ten minute walk away. We had a luxury room on the 16th floor which had a fantastic view...

I have visited the hotel last week and, although visited Vienna many times, it was my first time in Sofitel. The room was relatively small but very ergonomic. Clean white, trendy with fantastic view, with all facilities available. The architect and designers have made a really good job indeed. The staff is english speaking, exceptionally helpful on all matters and...

After more than 12 years of regularly staying in the InterCon and Hilton by Stadtpark I am now a fan of the Sofitel and have stayed here twice in the last month. The rooms and views are excellent and the 18th floor restaurant is spectacular. The breakfast choices are impressive. The location requires a taxi service to anywhere central which...

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
