On arrival bags were transferred without asking. Was offered an immediate free upgrade with a view. Bags transferred to the room without fuss. Went for a run and the concierge handed me a bottle of water on the way back in. That to give an idea of the kind of service you receive. The breakfast on the 18th floor is... More

We stayed in this 5 star art-style hotel for 3 nights while on a European trip. We were fortunate enough to be upgrade to a top floor suite. The hotel lives up being true 5 star. The staff are excellent, the rooms are stark white and modern with all the luxury features you could desire, with lots of space and... More

Stayed in Sofitel Vienna recently. The hotel is billed as a five star, a contention with which I have no serious reservations provided the stars are reflective of size, cleanliness and trendy design. It is a very modern hotel with little or no trapping of a more classy feel that one ordinarly associates with treditional 5* properties. There are no carpets... More

A modern style hotel in a good convenient location. Had a room on 17th floor with fantastic view looking towards the Danube and Praterstern. The room was all white and glass and certainly an eye opener when you first go in. Room was clean and tidy but being white the furniture in room is starting to show signs of use.... More

White and Mirrors make the first impressions great. Amazing views from inside out and from the outside in. The details are where it s lacking, the rooms are all starting to look a little tired. Still good for a year but a refit is needed. Make sure you book the restaurant, it is really popular.

The location is central (just a quick trip over the bridge) and the view if you book the right room over the Danube amazing. Whilst everything is in order and correct it feels quite impersonal. The staff does their duty but not with warmth and charm. Again, the breakfast on the top level is good and so is the view... More

Great staff. Especially our bellman Alexander. Took care of us, made sure everything was right, took our luggage, showed us all of the room's features as well as how to control the temperature. Receptionist gave us a very high floor with views of the Prater amusement park! Rooms are blindingly white -- floor to ceiling, with the toilet and wash... More

I'll start off with this review by tying make clear I am being as fair as possible by giving them a 3 star rating. I was upgraded to a suite, which was all black, due to the previous room being unserviced by housekeeping before my arrival. This is a 5 star property with amazing views. Amazing service when it is... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
