The room is very basic with no air conditional, but that is what you get with the price paid. :) The location is very near to the main station and many shops and restaurants nearby, very convenient. The staffs there all very friendly, worth every penny spent. Totally recommend it to those who plan to stay in a budget place... More

The apartment we rented was located in a good spot of town. Friendly staff. On the down side, the room and the beds where not clean. Even after we asked for an extra clean up... In fact they did not do this at all. The matrass was also dirty and of poor quality. Plates and other kitchenware are dirty and... More

Whats a surprise about this hostel. We were allowed check in early and when we entered the rooms, we were not believe the rooms are so nice, and every single room have kitchen set, and we can cooking, make coffee or what ever we want to do anytime. The staff was so helpful. We spent 3 nights here, all of... More

We booked a room for 4 people, arrived at 1:30 pm, room was not ready. Our non-smoking room had very strong smell of cigarettes. We stayed for two nights, our room had not been cleaned on second day. Our room was in separate building from the reception. No one at the reception some time. Well we did't expect 5 stars... More

I have booked my stay in this hostel a couple of nights just because it was very close to Stadthalle (I prefer Josefstadt or Alsergrund to Westbahnhof) where it should be played a concert (then moved to Gasometer). Outside the impression was positive but inside... My room was at 3rd floor and there was no lift. I had a single... More

The hostel is quite close to Westbahnhof and to Mariahilfer street, and a 15-20 minutes walk to Museumsquartier. The room was not too clean - there was a pile of orange peels in the middle of the room. The toilets are clean, and you also get access to a roomy kitchen. There are two entrances to the hostel, so it... More

There is a strange smell. Facilities are old and smells. Our bed sheets have lots of hair and is dirty. When I tried to pick up my stuff which fell beside the table, I saw lots of dust. Wifi is FREE but it is not working inside the room.

Although a little dated, our private room was great. It was like a little apartment with separate full kitchen and bathroom. The bed was large and comfy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There are long termers here and I can see why as it is close to the main shoping area and train stations.

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
