Very good hotel, well located and friendly staff. Second time I am here and will go again next year. Breakfast is very good and the cheese ommelette too. I see you again next year when I am going to Wiener Wiesn again.

I had a business trip in Vienna and my dear fellows from Austria made a reservation for a double bed room for my 3 days / 2 nights stay. Everyday we had an exhibition next to the river in the city, but I never felt the hotel was too far. On the contrary... Which is interesting, because checking the map...

Room price includes breakfast, which is OK. Double bed room (smoking) was spacious. However, on the day of our check out I was unable to report a theft of my spouse's personal belongings (2 items of her make up "set"- quite expensive_ I am sure that a thief was 100% sure whats/he was stealing) because the receptionist spoke NO English,...

Quiet B&B in a nice residential road on the outskirts of town, which suited us. The public transport system is extremely reliable and cheap. We parked our car at the Gallitzinberg, hopped on the bus outside (always on time), 5 mins to the metro and then 15 mins to the centre of town, very impressed. Hotel staff very friendy and...

Very confused rooms, states a safe and mini bar, not true, its in a resi area and miles from nowhere, clean and parking is fine if your in first, other than that your on the street. Not for us and very expensive for 1 night in a bed ( £70 ) I would not return, but i have to say...

Dear indiaandcai, Thank you very much for your feedback. We are very sorry that the room and the location did not meet your expectations. We are located in the west of the city near the Vienna forest in a quiet neighborhood with panorama view as you can see on several of our Photos and on the map. The bus stop...

I had a very relaxing holiday-experience in this lovely hotel at the green, mountainous outskirts of Vienna. You can reach both the Vienna City center in about 15 minutes and also enjoy the green areas around here for walking, jogging or to visit a „Heuriger“, which is kind of a traditional Wine-Bar. My room and the bio-breakfast were very nice...

Interesting location, great view to Vienna city centre, close to bus stop, great bio-breakfast, clean rooms, but a bit demolished I must say, no a/c, obscure corridor. Great location for fun of local young wines! 50 m down you may reach wine pub. You may feel that this is family bussiness. We have family room for 140EUR which is overpriced...

We stayed there for three nights and used two room apartments. Rooms are clean, neat and overall place is very nice and quite so we could have good rest after long day. Bus station is just in front of hotel and you can reach any place of interest very easily and quickly. Very good value for money.

We spent a week at the Gallitzinberg. Our intention was to see the sights of Vienna as well as do some hikes in the Vienna Woods and we found this location ideal. It is located in a quiet area within walking distance of a few walks in the woods and has bus stops at the front door that connect you...

We stayed at the Hotel Gallitzinberg because it was located just outside the city of Vienna and offered a closed parking lot. We were traveling through Austria by car, but did not want to take the car into Vienna. The hotel is located on the bus route to Vienna and the trip to and from the city was relatively easy...

Staying in Ottakring

Neighborhood Profile
The production site of popular Ottakringer beer brews up an exciting mix of working and middle class suburbs, Balkanese immigrant lifestyles, and lush patches of hilly woodland. The recently gentrified area around Yppenplatz and Brunnenmarkt boasts hip cafés and bars next to South East European delicacies at Brunnenmarkt street market. The dynamics of Ottakring become most apparent at its vibrant high street Ottakringer Strasse. At the top end you can feast on wine and local food in Austria’s oldest wine tavern 10er Marie. The wines are from the tavern’s own urban vineyards. Before you head upwards, make sure you pay a visit to the historic courtyards between Lerchenfelder Gürtel and Hippgasse. When locals visit Ottakring’s hilly green outskirts on the weekends they either climb up 31 meters of Jubiläumswarte viewing tower on Gallitzinberg, have a succulent Wiener Schnitzel at Villa Aurora, or reward their hiking exertions around Wilhelminenberg with a drink and a view from Wilhelminenberg Palace (now a hotel and restaurant).
