From first entering the hotel we felt truly welcomed with a much needed coffee and cake presented to us following a delay in arrival. The owners make all guests feel special and couldn't have done more for us throughout our stay. All of the hotel staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing, with impeccable English.

Our room was impeccably clean and serviced each day. Anything we needed we could ask for throughout our stay.

There were plenty of options at breakfast with a full continental service, as well as being able to order scrambled/fried eggs with bacon and beans if you wanted it. Being able to take what we wanted from the breakfast for packed lunches was a huge plus and this alone saved us a lot of money throughout the stay.

The five course evening meal was always cooked well with options for all. The additional starter was perhaps unnecessary as the soup and salad alone was enough but obviously this is nothing to complain about, just an observation that the hotel doesn't need to provide this. Having the option to choose schnapps for dessert was great following a filling previous four courses!

I would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Kitzbuhel to stay in this hotel. It is only a 5 minute walk into the centre of town and in the evening without much happening in town anyway you can just walk around the area close to the hotel or relax in the bar if you don't want to venture into town.

My Son and I spent ages looking at the reviews of Hotels in Kitzbuhel and in the surrounding area. This one had the best set of recent reviews and had a superb location ; I could feel the passion the owners had for their guests before I even met them. Our room was described as small when we booked it:- I disagree, it was a decent sized room and was perfect for a Father and Son or a couple. The food was restaurant standard throughout the week and the quality of fish and meat was superb, there was always a vegetarian option too.
At the end of the day the hotel guest area was large enough for many of the guests to sit and drink beer or wine until late evening; most guests actually remained in the hotel during the evening as the atmosphere was so pleasant and the beer price reasonable. The town is a 5 minute walk away and easily accessible on foot.
The owners Klaus and Veronika were always welcoming, cheerful and so helpful with train times and suggestions of other activities. The sauna in the hotel is large, clean hot and relaxing and even has a window with views!! The staff are attentive, cheerful and genuinely like the guests. The hotel seemed to be occupied only by Crystal customers during our stay from the UK and Republic of Ireland; the mix was great with much banter and many stories exchanged. The bootroom was clean, warm and secure. The stars of the show has to be the owners; Klaus has to be the snappiest dresser ever and always looked impressive in his colourful jackets and Veronika so elegant and pleasant to speak with.
I can't sing the hotels praises highly enough. Yes, its more expensive than staying in some of the satellite villages and hamlets but to be able to ski back to the hotel or ski down the main slope and be 'home' in 5 minutes is worth every penny rather than having to spend ages on the ski bus. Thank you to everyone at the hotel, my 27 year old Son and his 61 year old Father had a brilliant time. Klaus and Veronika you have developed a hotel that is warm, welcoming and distinct. The hotel has a real authentic Austrian feel to it.

My family and I stayed at the Edelweiss for a week of skiing and everything about our stay was perfect.

The location was fantastic, on a pretty corner of town away from any late night noise but just a 5 minute walk to the Hahnenkamm Gondola and an extra minute to medieval high street in Kitzbühel which is absolutely stunning!

From the moment we arrived we were waited on hand and foot. The hospitality was faultless. Klaus, Veronica, Sophia, Teresa and Nikki took such good care of us all and provided the best service I have ever experienced at any hotel. A huge thank you must go to them all for making our week so special.

The food was also wonderful, I am a vegetarian and was very well catered for at every meal, and the dinning room was a lovely place to unwind after a day on the slopes with a beer of glass of wine (the riesling was a firm favourite).

Our room was well decorated, with gorgeous exposed wood features, the beds were comfy, the bathroom was spotless with a lovely warm shower and we had incredible views over the bottom of the Streiff from our balcony. There was even a sauna which was a real treat after a long day on the slopes.

I honestly cannot find fault with the Edelweiss and I would return in a heartbeat. Certainly, if I were back in Kitzbühel I would not look to stay anywhere else.

Wow! We are a well travelled family and have stayed in many excellent hotels all over the world from homestays to luxury retreats. The Eildelweiss is in a class of its own. We stayed for Christmas week in the top floor of the garden house, a lovely apartment with two bedrooms and a small sitting room offering loads of space for both Christmas presents and all our ski kit. But what makes the hotel so special is the constant attention to detail of, without exception, all the staff. Many five star resorts are not run as well as this - warm welcomes EVERY time, perfectly timed service, never a dirty glass left on a table, food at the buffet constantly and discreetly topped up and above and beyond help with our queries. There was, without exception, always someone around to help. We were skeptical about our first Christmas away from home but the hotel was cosy and festive and that, alongside the snow and the outstanding service , made our Christmas very memorable. A special mention must be made for the lovely Christmas Eve in the hotel with delicious Roast Duck, a visit from Father Christmas, a live band playing Christmas music and beautiful readings by the staff. Thank you Klaus and Veronika and your team for a fantastic Christmas holiday.

Why is that you may ask. Well I believe in being fair so have to review both the pro's and cons of the establishment.

Pro's
Definetly the family who run this hotel. Very friendly knowledgeable and helpfull in every way possible. Klaus is very witty and the life and soul of the place. Veronica is just very professional.
The two nieces who help out are very switched on to all your needs.
The hotel is situated both a 5 minute walk from town and also the Hannenkamm gondola.
The rooms are small but adequate with comfortable beds and drawer space.
The ability to choose your own table to eat at every meal time is a great idea. The lounge doubles up as a secondary dining room both being very modern and spotlessly clean.
The food was very good quality with ample servings. The ability to make up your packed lunch from the breakfast buffet is also excellent.

Con's
The hotel is next to the busy railway line so some rooms will experience noise throught both the day and night.
The desserts were served without cream, custard or ice cream. The first night we requested some ice cream to compliment the dessert and were charged €2.80. That to us is very petty. We also found out they have stopped doing included free afternoon tea and cakes. Its now €4.50 a head.
Most hotels in Austria include this as part of the cost. It would also have been nice to have some veg with the main course. No veg served all week.

Without being offensive to the very charming hosts who work exceedingly hard there would appear to be a bit of penny pinching taking place. In our view a couple of food issues need resolving and maybe a liitle bit of modernisation in the bedrooms. It would then be perfect.

The hotel is in the perfect position, literally 300 yards from the Hannenkamm. The building is old, beware room 214 its dark and dingy and has badly coloured my perception of this hotel Im afraid. Catering to the english is dragging the quality down.
Klaus and Veronika are what compensate with this hotel, you rarely meet such professional, knowlegeable and helpful hoteliers.
Food is adequate, but bland and repetitive. breakfast is basic. bacon either, nearly raw or dried out but never hot. Cold beans is normal.
Evening meals are the same, salads are limited, sauces seem watered down, too much penny pinching perhaps.
There are many excellent sides to this hotel but it doesnt take much to turn one off. Our room was dark and dingy, bathroom was ancient, with showerhead screwed to the wall above the bath, Ive not seen one like this in a long time in Austria.
I would not go back.

I stayed at this hotel for a week on a ski holiday as part of a group of seven people. Room 113 had two single beds, en-suite facilities and a balcony. There was plenty of room for two people and all ski equipment. The room was clean and tidy and fresh towels were supplied as required. There is a large, secure ski/boot drying room with boot warmers. The hotel is located a short walk away from the Hahnenkammbahn lift in a quiet area of the town. Breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner were good quality and portions were generous. The hotel team led by Klaus and Veronica provided exceptional hospitality and quickly responded to any requests. They provided local knowledge on skiing, walking and transport links. In summary an excellent hotel in a quiet, yet fairly central location.

We visited the hotel with friends, from the minute we arrived to getting on the coach to leave everything was perfect. The location for getting to the ski buses or main lift was a 5 min walk down a path. The staff at the hotel were amazing and so attentive. The food at breakfast & dinner was varied and delicious, also making sandwiches for lunch was the icing on the cake. Klaus & Veronika couldn’t do enough for the guests. Would recommend go back in a heart beat.

Fantastic welcome, excellent hospitality and good food in this well run hotel, conveniently close to the piste and town. Comfortable room with nice modern finishes. Hotel lounge and bar were nice with table service offered on purchase of drinks. Half board and to add value the hotel encouraged guests to pack a picnic lunch from the buffet breakfast, they provided picnic bags and cartons of drink at no extra cost.

Have just returned from a week’s stay at this excellent hotel. The resort of Kitzbühel is fantastic and the skiing conditions were excellent. Great runs for all abilities. We chose the Edelweiss due to the excellent reviews it previously had and we were not disappointed. We were allocated the 2 rooms on the top floor which were right next to the sauna which was a massive bonus. Great to relax after a hard day skiing. The food was excellent and the service is the best I have ever experienced. All the staff are very attentive and ready to help you with anything. In the morning you are woken up with an extensive buffet breakfast and can order hot food such as eggs and bacon as well. You are encouraged to make a packed lunch as well which was a great bonus and saves buying food on the mountain when out for the day. The evening meal consisted of 5 course -soup, starter, main, salad, dessert. The bar drinks menu is also very extensive. The hotel does not have a pool but we visited the Aquarena in the town which was excellent and you get a discount on the price when you show a valid lift pass. The owners Klaus and Veronika are so welcoming and really make you feel at home. The location of the Edelweiss is great as it’s only a 5 minute walk to the gondola and you will be up on the mountain in no time at all. We had a fantastic week and will definitely be returning to this resort and hotel in the near future.

there are no laundry facilities at the hotel. In town center, approx. 400 - 500 meters away from the hotel you find laundry service and also a self service laundry.

I’ve been in the summer although a few years ago. Lovely area with lots to do as stated by Mark R, When I went there was also ice skating and a rock wall for climbing in the local centre. Golf and a local lake including swimming in the lake. I took my mountain bike up the local ski lifts for some downhill cycling, you could also try grass skiing.

room 214 does. Small room but very adequate and quiet too. No entertainment but a few hundred yards to town centre. Great place to stay summer or winter. You won't be disappointed.

They definitely had gluten free bread, but I had to ask for it and they went out to the kitchen to get it. I think they can accommodate gluten free meals but there was not a gluten free option on the menu in the evenings - you would have to ask when you order your evening meal at breakfast.
