We came for 3 nights to explore the city and go up into the mountains and couldn't have been more pleased with the location of this hostel. We stayed in a double ensuite room with mountain-view which was absolutely breathtaking - make sure you book mountain-view so you're not at the back of the building! We couldn't hear the main road despite it being so close, and the number 3 tram (less than 5 minute walk) goes straight into the city. With the Welcome Card you get free public transport during your stay so we used this line every day, super convenient. The staff are so friendly, I had a couple of questions about excursions and our room before we came and my emails were answered within 5 minutes. Breakfast was amazing - cold cuts of different meats and cheeses, hummus, spreads, pastries + breads, as well as fresh fruit and vegetables, boiled eggs, gluten free bread and lactose free butter! Plus juice, warm milk, cereals and loads of teas and coffee options (as well as oat milk). The breakfast room is self-service so you clear your own table, I thought this was a great idea because the table turnover is quick and you can always get a seat. I recommend eating between 7-8.30 so it's not too busy and you get the most variety. Our room was a great size, plenty of space for two people with lots of storage, a desk, big mirror and nice-sized bathroom. The different lamps made it feel cosy at night which we thought was a nice touch. The whole room was immaculately clean, no dust or anything. The double bed was really a big double as well - not two twins pushed together! The only thing that kept us awake a bit was the bed was very creaky, but we loved the view so much and had already unpacked, so didn't think it was worth changing. I haven't stayed in a hostel before so I was pleasantly surprised! I found the whole experience really relaxing and would definitely stay here again.

Located on the outskirts of Innsbruck the hostel is relatively easy to get to. From the central station you just walk around the corner and catch the number 3 tram (heading for Amras). After a few stops you get off at `Pilippine-welser strabe’ and then walk for about ten minutes. Incidentally, if your flight is a morning one, don’t turn up at the hostel in the hope of an early check-in as there is no receptionist until 14.00. So unless you want to sit outside and twiddle your thumbs you would be better off placing your bags in one of the rail station lockers and having a look around the city. Our room was small and basic (no television etc.) and our allocated bathroom was across the corridor. But it was all high spec and, in keeping with the rest of the hostel, spotlessly clean. The receptionists were polite, knowledgeable and helpful (don’t forget to ask for your welcome card which gives you free travel on the trams and buses within the city). Breakfast was more than sufficient to keep us going for most of the day, although some might feel that the choice on offer a bit limited. Should we ever return to Innsbruck we’d be happy to stay at the Marmota again.

The staff is very helpful and welcoming, and the place's cozy, well-maintained, and affordable. Just two little downsides It's a little "far" from the city center, but easily reachable by tram. Check out it's too early make it at least 11:00 Besides that the place its awesome :)

Our room was very large with 4 beds, 2 bathrooms en suite, and a kitchenette. The view out our window was lovely. It was a very short walk to the bus route, and we walked up the hill next to the hotel and found a very lovely view and places to eat. Breakfast was nice, with a lot of choices. The staff was very helpful. There are several good restaurants within walking distance. We only had one night there, but would definitely return.

Since the hospitality of the elderly was considered sacred, foreigners were accommodated and refreshed. My second experience with the Hostel Marmota in Innsbruck starts on November 6th, 2020. I book a single room for my son against payment on arrival. Since there were restrictions on Covid 19, my son was accompanied by a letter stating that the trip was not for tourism but for work. On arrival they refused to take my son in because the letter was not appropriate, to say that my son had ridden a motorcycle from Munich to Innsbruck in the cold and rain weather. And not satisfied with the sacrilege of hospitality, they charged my credit card. (And of course, Booking.com supports: blah blah blah ). Keep in mind when you give your credit card to this place or if you have problem.

Dear guest, unfortunately the truth is a little different. The letter your son showed was not a job confirmation, just the letter written by you. According to new anty-Covid-19 restrictions, we can host only guest with confirmation from work (with all company details), from school (university) or from a doctor. All these informations are provided on booking sites.

I had a very good time staying at Hostel Marmota. Rooms and bathrooms are tidy, there is plenty for breakfast, the staff is always keen to help. The sanitary mesures are well respected too. The only thing I noticed is that it would be nice to have access to a fridge and a kettle to be able to make some sandwiches and tea/coffee in the evening or before hiking, but that’s a slight detail comparing to all the good sides of the hostel. I’d recommend it to anyone. Thanks guys!

I stayed at this hostel prior to its recent renovation and what a difference! Everything is clean, modern, and in good condition. I couldn't believe how spacious the 6 bed dorms were and that they came with two showers and toilets. The lockers were large too and most of the beds were not bunks. Breakfast was a great variety and extremely delicious, wifi great and the staff were always friendly and helpful. I would say that the only downside was the lack of kitchen facilities especially as you are about a 25 minute walk from the centre.

First of all, special thanks to Madalena and aleksandra. We couldn’t have found more friendly staff then both of them. With their great tips we were able to enjoy the most out of Innsbruck, and they would always receive us with a great smile! Thank you girls! Second of all, the hostel is amazing, very modern, the room and shower are extra comfortable. The environment it’s young and adventurous l! ( by the way, loved the decoration of the rooms). Breakfast it’s delicious as well ☺️ The location it was great, 2 minutes walking from the tram, which takes you to the city center in 5 minutes! Thanks to aleksandra who explained everything for us! And for last but not least, the hostel have bikes to rent for only 10 euros per day. Me and my friend we have rented, and they were super nice. We had the best experience biking along the river to near villages. It felt like the sound of music! Thanks again madalena for arrange everything for us! Vielen danke 😊

Everything was as expected, maybe even better regarding the room. But one thing was absolutely awful was our bed, I basically had my worse nights in a very long time, extremely hard mattress and almost inexistent pillow.

Dear Annastyl, thank you for your review. If the room isn't "exactly clean", you can always report this fact at the reception and we can try to find the solution. About the surrounding, the adress and location is written on our website and it easy to find us on google maps, so the neighbourhood of the cemetery shouldn't be surprise for you. There are trees and bushes so to be honest- it's not so easy visible from our windows and it's located 300m from the hostel. We are sorry, that our hostel didn't live up to your expectations, although we hope you liked Innsbruck!
